The damage was done by McInally. Davie irons kept us up where as if McInally had still been in charge we woul have went down don't post unless you have the facts.

How many Morton games were you at last season?

True, but everyone who watched Morton every week would tell you that relegation was highly likely if McInally stayed. We were a lost cause under McInally, and would have ended the season struggling to avoid 10th rather than 9th had he stayed. Despite this, Irons kept us up. Fans of most clubs commented on how much better our performances were after he took over.

4.

It's still not a fact. You may have had a miraculous up turn in form and stayed up quite comfortably, and then go on to win promotion this year and dominate Scottish football.
smittysmee
I presonally think tht Morton wouldnt have struggle in the relegation zone if they kept McInally
and i think they will struggle to movefrom 10th position let alone reachin the play offs
Günther
You know, I've never rated Irons either - So I wouldn't be surprised if he is the first to go. Albeit, Dougie Rae isn't the quickest at Sacking managers as the 'Ton fans will be able to tell you...

Well, he may think hes a gangster but he done quite well for us. He proved himself last two seasons, In his first seaons he finished 3rd after a disppointing 7th in our first seaon in 1st divison. last seaon we mounted a challange for promotion and this season i see us challenging again if not promotion. He building a solid team again and has better record as a manager than irons. Irons was promoted with the job that was almost done at gretna, then nearly blow it.A poor season in SPL with gretna. As for his job at morton time will tell. I don't rate him but he may do a job for Morton we will see this season.

Correct but I think if Dundee don't go up this season his jacket may be on a shaky hook.
DomDom
Dougie Rae gives his managers MORE than what they deserve, so Irons will last longer than any 1st manager.

True, Rae needs promotion this season as i see the board patience going if he doesn't.Then who can really come in and do better job than he doing already, thats the other problem if we are not promoted this season.

I can't see morton relegated this season, but im sure if its not comfortable league postion Irons may be on his way.

I presonally think tht you are either retarded or a Dundee fan on the wind up. What ever the case McInally was a talentless twat.
QosLoyal
No. i think its a stick on that the livi manager will be the first to get the bullet
Denji
No, he may be the first that should get the sack, but we all know Dougie wouldn't sack him.

McInally is East Stirlingshire manager for a reason.

Will Dave Irons Be 1st To Get The Sack?

Nope, John Brown will go first.
Piehutt
I have to say I wasn't overly impressed with the appointment or Iron's but he's def won me and most of the fans over.

There wasn't a lot wrong with us before he came in. Just that McInally had had his time, couldn't motivate sh1te out yer arse and had totally run out of any ideas.

Towards the end of the season we were playing some really good stuff, with pretty much the same squad.

We should def make a bit of progress with Iron's this season.
yangus
hes never really done anything as a manager IMO

Alexander got gretna to the spl IMO

He's never had a chance to do anything as a manager because this is first managerial post. The guy had his hands tied behind his back at Gretna by Mick Wadsworth, who didn't allow him any control in his head coach role. Wadsworth signed the players, not taking any of Irons suggestions into consideration, while at the same time selling off the guys who had got Gretna to the position they were in. Players were demoralised, and Irons was the one who was trying to pick up the pieces.

Now that Irons has full control he can show exactly what he can do as his own man, but the early signs are very encouraging. I would be very surprised if he gets sacked in the next season.

McInally is East Stirlingshire manager for a reason.

2 Reasons actually:

1- He wanted a step up from Morton

2- He and the East Stirlingshire Chairman have been in cahoots and have both always hated Morton so he took the job as manager originally to take them to Administration and finally to the same fate as Gretna

U read it here first folks, wait till the story is all over the papers osama.gif

Derek Mcinnes has done even less as a manager than Irons, doesn't mean he's a bad manager.
ajcton
Irons has done well in his time at morton as for mcinally he ended up to be a complete joke and should have walked earlier. As for the guys intent on slagging the big lipped one we will see and judge him on his first full season. First manager to go could well be rae if things dont go as planned
