Full Version: Welcome Back Kenny Miller.......
The Pie Shop > SPL and SFL Football > Rangers v Celtic, Celtic v Rangers
The Hun
With Miller back at Ibrox for a second time and definitely a better player than he was in his first stint at the Gers, I expect Kenny to prove the majority wrong and Walter's decision to bring him back will be justified come the end of next season.

He has been signed as part of an overall game plan and will run his socks off to prove the point.
His contribution will be measured on more than goals scored and he will be asked to do an important job which will create goal scoring opportunities not just for himself but for others in the team. Our management will get the best out of him, I have no doubt.

I reckon Miller will make a positive and significant contribution next season as the Bears chase more honours for our historic and world record holding Ibrox Trophy room!

As for all the doom mongers who may laugh, laugh if you wish!

Football always throws up these great situations where the underdog proves everyone wrong and I reckon a few will be eating humble pie for criticising Miller!

All true Rangers fans should get behind him right from the start. For those who don`t, give up your seats and let some supporters in!

Roll on the new season. The famous Glasgow Rangers will be ready and so will Kenny Miller! wink.gif

laugh.gif I dare say he will "run his socks off", albeit to zero effect. Sadly for you he will also "control the ball with his shins", "shoot with the soles of his feet", "header the ball with his face" and umpteen other Millerisms.

The job-lot of free transfer strikers the huns picked up last summer, overweight 30-somethings Darcheville and Cousin, managed about 10 goals each - Miller is hardly likely to better that. In fact he got four in a Celtic side far superior to the current hun outfit and then floundered badly in the EPL.

As for him creating stuff for others laugh.gif In his time at Derby County has he re-invented himself as a sort of no.10 deep lying forward like Francesco Totti? Or is he a winger with an eye for goal like Arjen Robben?

If I didn't know you better I'd say you were getting your excuses in early for having a striker who doesn't strike!
Stuboy
I give every new Rangers signing a chance but Millers going to have to work twice as hard to get my approval. Not that it'd bother him much dry.gif

No lover of Rangers, however I think Miller is an excellent signing for them. I hope he does well, hopefully upfront with Boyd, the two then to hit it off for club and country. I can live with it if they fail at club level laugh.gif
Broxi_Bear_Eire
He has signed and he will get my support tongue.gif
JohnMac
According to Beymystic he was never Celtic minded. So he will probably play better for us. Bertie Auld style? Wasn't he .......... minded?
seamus
He did ok just ok and when he showed a bit of form we punted him.Hopefully we can put the Hun money to good use.
WeAreThePeople
The signing of Kenny Miller is a big step in the wrong direction, Miller is not the player we need, nor is Vellicka, or that lad from Burnley. We need someone who can get the ball to Boyd and set him up to score the goals he is capable of scoring. Kenny Miller wont do that, he will run about like a headless chicken then lose the ball or do something stupid.

We need someone with a bit of pace who will score some goals but provide alot of assists for Boyd. Sadly though, our scoting methods are

1)Played in Scotland
2)Played against Rangers in Europe
3)Had Wullie McLies as an agent.

We needed someone like Klasnic who could win the ball in the air and hold it up and I reckon could have set Boyd up for quite a few (Prso claimed Klasnic was of a similar player to him, and Prso seemed to do well to set up Boyd and bag a few himself)

For one I hope we sign some sort of creative attacking midfielder, as well as an out and out winger. These are the positions we need to fix. Miller can do neither.

I'm not saying I will do anything out of order towards Miller, but it is going to take a huge effort to prove he is worthy of pulling that jersey back on.

as was said by John Greig, it is an honour for a club like Rangers to ask you once.
seamus
Due to Sir Moonbeam's mismanagement this is the only type of player that Rangers can afford it will be the anti-football policy for next year again then.
What ever happened to all these prospects that Murray Park was going to churn out?

Its funny how this is not mentioned in the press so much since Lennoxtown ohmy.gif

So you think if you don't support the signing of this useless little shit you are not a true supporter? I dislike Chris Burke and think it was a massive error giving him a £12,000 a week contract does that mean i am not a true supporter?

I support Rangers Football Club come what may but that doesn't mean to say i will not criticise certain players. I am not outspoken at the games as that is only counter productive but on places like this i will make my views known. Miller does not now nor ever will have my support.!! dry.gif

You just slagged Burke and his new contract huh.gif

Hutton and Mcgregor fair enough the others you mention I am not so sure I honestly think Smith's career is hampered by injury, Charlie Adam is overated and the others are nothing but prospects.

You must admit we have not had the press fawning over Murrays every word recently like we did when Celtic did not have Lennoxtown.
I yearn for the days of the Blue Heaven programmes on the BBC.

Fair enough No8. I'll expect you to sit in your seat then if he scores goals for Rangers. Especially if he scores against Celtic!

I know some guys who said the same pish when Maurice Johnston signed for Rangers. These were the same clowns who hardly went to a game pre Souness of course. Glory hunters I would call them! Hardly missed when they demonstrated their little annoyance with a no show at games either when Mojo signed!

Maybe you should take their stance and give up your seat at Ibrox?

Personally, I'll take Walters judgement on how to run Rangers before any fan sitting in a seat at Ibrox or any other ground for that matter. He is after all a fellow supporter of the club and an experienced professional football manager and ex pro player. Me thinks he will know more about what Kenny Miller will bring to Rangers than any fan for sure.

I look forward to laughing ironically at the usual would be managers, pretend footballers and so called supporters moaning in the stands at him during the games next season!

Just as they did before Mojo scored his first OF goal for the Bears in the last minute at Ibrox many years ago!
Of course, they all changed their attitude pretty quickly after he scored that day as well...we'll wait and see, eh! wink.gif

Fucksake, leave the "support another team" to Beyemistic and the Dhims. People are entitled to their views on Miller and if they disagree with the signing that's their prerogative.

It is just par for the course Kincardine with 'The Hun'. That is not the 1st time he has played the 'I was there before Souness pish' ... Sorry 'The Hun' but i had a season Ticket from 1981 onwards and actually never missed a game in Scotland 3 years before Souness came friendlies and all. I am Rangers through n through and really don't need the likes of you to tell me how to support MY team!!
If you read my post i made a point of saying i will never have a go at Miller during the game or criticise Smith as he certainly does know a lot more than i do about what is best for Rangers. Comparing this to Mo Jo is just pathetic.

Fair enough...and I'm entitled to disagree with him. He'll give 100% for our cause and that for me should be encouraged. Footballers at any level need support to enhance confidence and if you can't get it from your own supporters, then what's the fuckin` point of playing! Sure you might not agree with the signing but to come out and say you`ll never ever give him any support like No8 said earlier is just bullshit!

F**k off! laugh.gif

I just think we should give the guy a chance. He will do much more running off the ball than Cousin and he knows Boyd and Ferguson and the way they play.

He will be a pest to defences which we didn't have last season out with when the Darch was fit!

Ps..8 ...we ain't going to fall out over this of course so just to show we do agree on something...my feelings on Burke were the same...although I still supported him on the park!

All players are mercenaries.

The difference is, at Berwick (or other clubs) we're under no illusions why they are playing for us, whereas Old Firm fans still buy into the fairy tales about how (insert player's name) has always wanted to play for the club, even growing up in the back streets of some foreign city...

He's a Scottish internationalist remember.

Does that not tell you something about his footballing ability?

How bad Scotland are maybe!

The difference at Berwick is you are playing in another countries league and have no natural rivals. This particular ''Mercenary' played for our bitterest rivals and scored as if that was not bad enough the celebrations were over the top. That is what i wont ever forget. Now we are meant to forget this and go along and cheer him on...No chance!! Not now not ever!!

As for him being a Scottish Internationalist...so are Barry Robson and Gary Caldwell

How much is he pocketing, anyways?

PS. And I have a bad feeling that he'll do well for your manky mob, and I also think he'll score against us, the cunt.

PPS. As long as Miller still does well for Scotland (and doesn't pull out of the squad with a tight hammy) and the Govan scum don't win the league, I don't really care that Miller is at the Pox.

There's been plenty players played for two clubs in the one city (or local rivals in neighbouring cities), but most fans are realistic enough to accept it.
