Surely not, but it'd be interesting to see who can dig what up! rolleyes.gif

Maybe a couple of defenders?

"Neco" Martinez

Darren Anderton went through a few seasons playing and probably scoring more goals for En-ger-land than Spurs and to the disgust of Sir Allan Sugar asked for a pay rise when his contract was up.

Depending on if you mean in their career...

Daniel Prodan scored for Romania, but never did for Rangers. You could add Didi Hamman to that list as well with his "brief" spell at Bolton.

Yeah i was meaning during a players whole career! It's not an easy thing to find out as i've been looking for a couple of nights now, and found nothing!

Richard Dunne has a chance of achieving it, at the mo he has 5 international goals in 43 matches and only 6 club goals in well over 300 appearances.

On a quick google I've only found one other, also a goalkeeper: Mark Bosnich, whose only career goal would seem to have been a penalty scored for Australia in a 13-0 win over some little Pacific island or other.

David Healy for N Ireland? He seemed to struggle with Leeds and Fulham.

He scored freely for Preston though, and a reasonable number for Leeds.
34 international goals against 82 club goals, according to wiki.

Darren Fletcher would have been an answer at one stage - his first two international goals preceded his first for United, but he's now scored seven for club and four for country.

George McCartney (West Ham and Northern Ireland) is another one who would've been a correct answer for a long time, between scoring his only international goal in 2001 and his only club goal in 2007.

And after literally minutes of searching through the Euro 2008 squads, I have finally found an outfielder who currently qualifies.

In literal terms - a player who scores more goals playing for his country than in his club career - I'm thinking someone like Archie Thompson, who scored barrowloads of goals every time he went out for Australia versus 'Random Pacific Island' but tended to be a peripheral figure at many clubs.

EDIT TO ADD: Unfortunately, he was prolific in Aussie club football - but wasn't too hot in Europe.

The only problem is that Wikipedia's stats section only counts league matches for clubs. So he might have scored another goal in the Polish Cup or in a European match.
