I'm guessing a lot of people these days own a domain name ?

I'm now up to 22 domains, some of which I don't even use as they were bought for some hairbrained scheme I had for making dosh that never got off the ground. For a variety of reasons I own;

babymania.net
bigfrontdoor.co.uk
bigfrontdoor.com
bigfrontdoor.net
blackandwhitearmy.com
blackandwhitearmy.net
footballfootball.co.uk
greenockmorton.net
pieandbovril.co.uk
pieandbovril.com
pieandbovril.net
seemybabyonline.co.uk
smisa.co.uk
smisa.net
stmirren.co.uk
stmirren.com
stmirren.net

What about you boys and girls ?

This is really a 'how big is your penis' thread for geeks, isn't it?

None, by the way.

For some reason, all I can think of is babiesovernight.com from GTAIV...

What scheme was this, exactly?! tongue.gif

One was supposed to just be for a baby shop - the other was for publishing baby photos when they were born.

At least I think that's why I bought them, I may have been drunk at the time.

Domain names are under £2 per annum for a dot co dot uk name - everyone should buy at least one I think biggrin.gif

Cheers Div, not had a chance to write much recently due to the nuisance of exams. sad.gif

I use 123-reg as well, so easy and reliable. The days of using 1&1 seem like a distant nightmare these days!

I've got one, but I'm not telling as any Tom, Dick or Harry can do a whois search and get my full name and address.

Far from meaning to be a cheeky shite here, but are you serious?

I have heard nothing but bad things about 1&1 (and have had bad first-hand experiences with them). Plus the fact, with respect Don Div, P&B and 100% reliability don't exactly come hand in hand.

One of the world's biggest web hosts but again, one of the most reliable, can't go wrong with godaddy.

Barely a second of downtime. Terrific biggrin.gif

edited to add: nice names, everyone needs a big front door wink.gif

The problems we have with P&B are nothing to do with 1and1, we've just outgrown our server.

My issue with 1&1 started 5 years ago when I canceled my account. 2 years later they sent me a letter with a bill on it for 2 years of hosting I had apparently used since leaving! Phoned them up and was told to pay it. Threatened legal action and funnily enough they owned up to their mistake.

I had a similar thought a couple of years ago - a site for storing and sharing baby photos. I got half way through doing one for my eldest but no further rolleyes.gif

I own one domain

www.mollysworld.me.uk

edited to add - I use Streamline.net for hosting. Very competitivly priced and never had any problems
