Does anyone know which team holds the record for most sendings off in a season or a game for that matter. Only ask as Ayr have had 10 sendings off this season and noticed Rangers had their 8th sending off too.

Most sendings off ive seen in a game is 3, all St Mirren players! laugh.gif

Can't find sent off statistics, but this season the SFA issues warnings to the following clubs for the level of disciplinary points they had:

SPL - Gretna & Hearts
1st - Stirling Albion & Clyde
2nd - Queens Park & Ayr
3rd - Elgin, Stranraer & Arbroath.

I think Hearts had 4 sent off against Rangers in a game about 10-12 years ago
Ya Bezzer!
Dundee Utd have had 10 players sent off this season as well.

Ref for that game was Joe Timmons, an Ayrshire man and a total fucking cunt.

Albion Rovers had four sent off against Queen's at Hampden in the mid-nineties, one up and coasting to three points they lost the plot, Stvie Ross in goals was shown two red cards and Vinnie Moore had to go in goals, and Stevie Ross was quickly followed by a further three players and 20 minutes later it was 5-1 to Queen's.

Ref was Ian Taylor, I don't think he ever reffed another senior match after that.

That is correct....1 more sending off and the game would have been called off. The Referee lost the plot and Rangers players were arguing with the referee to get a grip as he sent off the 3rd and 4th.

The one i remember was somebody sent off for kicking a post.. laugh.gif Gough was trying to grab the card and put it away as Chris Robinson appeared telling the Hearts players to come of together instead of 1 at a time wink.gif

There's actually no rule about a game needing to be abandoned when a fifth player is sent off. The Laws state that a game cannot start unless a team has 7 men, but there is no governance on abandoning a match if numbers fall below 7. It's up to the ref who in turn is guided by the policy of the national FA.
Cardinal Richelieu
I can't remember who we were playing, but about 15 years ago, Stranraer were 1-0, had 4 guys sent off and lost the game 8-1.

Well done chaps.

I'm surprised we didn't get one. I think we had a player sent off in each of the 1st 4 games this season. Also had a fair few since then as well.
McCaig's Tower
I think we've had 8 players sent off this season (if you count Danny Murphy's post match red v St Johnstone) 6 in the league, 1 in the UEFA Cup and 1 in the Challenge Cup. Amazingly none of them was Scott Wilson.

Stranraer (at Airdrie 3/12/94), Albion Rovers (at Queen's Park 23/8/97) and Hearts (at Rangers 14/9/96) have all had 4 players sent off in the one game.

Billy Abercromby.

That's all I'm saying on that one.

In response to your question, try Hearts or Airdrie under the stewardship of Alex McDonald.

I think last season we made it to double figures for red cards.
NorthernLights
What about Forfar? Bowman got 5 red cards in one game for them back in 2001, how many red cards did they get in total for that season?
Monkey

He only got 1 red card then was reported a further 4 times for offences that merit red cards on the pitch. A player can only be ordered off once. For example a player shown a red card for violent conduct then as he is going off calls the referee a rather naughty name, player then gets reported for using offensive, insulting and abusive lanuage (but doesn't get shown a red card) as he is heading up the tunnell he then punches the 4th official and spits at the opposition manager. Reported a further twice for violent conduct and spitting. So in total is reported 4 times but is only shown the red card once.
