To think Airdrie fans went mental at me when I suggested he wasn't good enough for the Scotland under 19/21s like they were suggesting a few years ago. I said he was just a flash in the pan and the abuse I got was something else!
I guess I turned out to be right, eh

I didn't rate him when he was at Airdrie and he did nothing at St Johnstone to suggest he'd be a good addition, particularly at 1st division level.

He will be a revelation in the second division.

If he had to have knuckled down when he first broke through and concentrated on his football he'd be playing at a higher level just now, his first 6 months for us in the 2nd he was superb not 1 team could cope with him. Unfortunately his love of alcohol and all things easterhouse put an end to him going any higher than the first division.
Saying that he still done well with us in the 1st division, scored 11 goals in his last year which is a pretty decent return for a winger.
He was one of our better performers today, had both St Johnstone right backs on toast throughout the game, capped his good display off with a goal. Got booked for a rubbish dive and was jeered for the rest of the game by the home support, who were taking the semi-final very seriously

Definitely an able player.
I would most definitely give him a deal should we wind up in the second division.

Does anyone know what the score was in that game? Can't find anything about it on either clubs website (St Johnstones hastn't been updated since Thursday).
I dont think he is the answer, clyde would be better of with hard working professionals than him.

The wee ned from Easterhouse could have played at a higher level.Always looked a threat when playing against us although was prone to the odd dive.If he knuckles down and concentrates getting his career back on track he sholud be a good signing for Clyde.

Which was more than the club was given we had a very young team out apart from 2 bigger names still getting back into the swing of things after injury. Cant say the same about your team I believe.
If McLaren hadnt had a good game against basically youth players them there is no hope for him.
And just out of interest, how do you know so much about the game and how seriously the crowd were taking it, which is apparently a humerous situation???

Always thought he was excellent for airdrie. Think everyone would agree he is a wasted talent. Heard that he rejected a trial from liverpool when he was a young boy, that basically sums up his career. Could have played at a higher level just never had the dedication.

Was my train of thought too Sam. If so I was wondering if the irony of scoffing at Saints fans taking the game seriously would be lost on someone who had travelled from afar to support Clyde reserves in the same match!

Andy McLaren nearly went on trial at Clyde too... though a different sort of trial.
Hope you got the door fixed, by the way.
