I thought that was the best old firm game of the season! And that is coming from a blue nose that was on the recieving end of a defeat!
But what a first half! That is how Gers come out on thursday against the italians!
Different class!
Do yous all think the season is all over??

What, lose a goal after 4 minutes? tongue.gif

You won't come back from an early goal against an Italian team in Italy...

After the first round at Ibrox Celtic are a far better opposition tha that mob! Far better and that is hard for me to say given the team i am talking about!

And besides the first goal shouldnt have been allowed cause scott mcdonald was at least a yard offside!

I wouldn't write Fiorentina off yet. They were happy with the draw and will be very confident of finishing the job at home. I'd also be amazed if they were far better than Celtic, given their position in a very strong League.

I don't think Fiorentina are all that great a team, but they are good enough.

Going to Italy and grinding out a result is goin' to be tough and I don't think Rangers will get the result they need. But we'll see. You never know thesedays.

I actually said celtic were a far better side and i stand by it! They may feel happy with the draw away from home but can you honestly say the gers arent? Every time this season bar one the game has been won away from home!
We are more attacking away from home! Plus we only need one goal and not to conceed more than one!
Cause a one all draw is a great result for us!

But thats all we have done all season! Grind out results, so whats to stop us doing it again. Cause if they play the same way they did at Ibrox i can see us going through no problem

But can i also add for all those barry Ferguson critics. It was pretty much the same team that went out last midweek against the same Celtic side except barry, and what a difference the man made! We were a different side. But yet people say he is over rated and does nothing for the side! I beg to differ cause Rangers were a different class today and the only main difference was Barry himself!
The man is world class
SandyCromarty
Barry Ferguson world Class????? Are you his feckin Dad???

He plays for Glasgow Rangers not a top european side, even Blackburn fecked him off and have you forgotten the way he fecked Rangers off to go to Blackburn for more money, thats how much he loves the Rangers!!

Rangers are gash.

At the end of the day we are in the world to make money! If someone offerded to double your money in the job your in are u trying to tell me u wouldnt take it?Didnt think so!

He is one of a select few who are Rangers at heart and he shows it when he plays!

Did u not notice a difference in the same select players from las wednesday to today? Cause it was clear to see!

He was only back to Rangers from Blackburn a few weeks when he went public in the press saying that some of the players in the first team weren't playing for the shirt, which means that he saw himself as putting the shirt before money and yet he fecked Rangers off fer more money at Blackburn, now thats not hard to understand is it?? he plays up to mugs like you so you will buy the shirt in the shop so that he gets his percentage.

I do not mind in the least a player making money but please do some growing up and give me a feckin break when it comes to hypocrites like ferguson.

And by the way, for all you say he's world class you still got beat today, but if you think Rangers did Ok and it relieves the pain and it makes you feel better because Barry played well then wallow on lad.

I`m glad to see you know f**k all about the Barry Ferguson transfer to Blackburn.

The punt in Barry leaving Rangers the first time was encouraged by a decent transfer fee which Rangers and Barry knew would be of help to the Bears as well.
It was a club and player decision which wasn`t taken lightly!

Secondly, there was always a door left open for Barry if he became home sick or wanted to return to the Bears later in his career.
Before he moved back to Rangers during the January transfer period, plans were well afoot to bring him back.

So your little jibe is based on fuckin hearsay more than anything. Take it from a man who knows more about this than you do!

Oh and BTW, he`s also been the most talented home based midfield player in the SPL for the past 10 years unless you fancy giving me alternatives!

Personnally I think it`s because he plays for Rangers and not your team that you find it easy to give him a dig. That`s usually the real reason why fans give a player in another team abuse!
Gallacticos
Ferguson is rotten. The man hasn't had a good game since the first Old Firm game this season, and he has been consistently outshone in the Rangers midfield by Steven Davis and Kevin Thomson. He was nowhere near Rangers best player today, that had to be Davis.

He has never had any positional discipline and his much-vaunted season in which he scored lots of goals when Advocaat was manager has never been repeated.

Oh, and as for the Blackburn debacle, funny how very few Rangers fans remember the back-page spreads that adorned every major newspaper in the country detailing how Ferguson would have "gone crazy" if he'd had to stay at Rangers his entire career, and how he had to test himself "at a higher level".

Never a captain, either. Totally unispirational.

That said, his goal against Italy was a fantastic moment even though he was bollocks for that entire game.

My recollection was that he decided a month or so after signing a 4 or 5 year deal that he wanted to leave Rangers to play at a higher level - still I agree the best midfielder in Scotland but with questionable motivational techniques.

It means that next week Rangers will actually apply themselves properly against Hibernian, as the league is not "theirs". Thus I thought todays result would have pleased you, as it has me.

and Celtic get points via.....

(The most recent ones..)

Robbing us at Love St with the Nakamura Dive. (2 points they would otherwise have dropped)

Robbing Aberdeen of the draw they deserved with yet another dodgy referee. (2 points they would otherwise have dropped)

Offside 1st goal and non-penalty (even non free kick) for McDonald's trademark "stop and back intae him" tactic. (3 points the would otherwise have lost)

What do you think now, you wannabee Celtic, resident greeney, 'club-mickey' membership holding, one-sided, and very forgetful (or ignorant) twat?

How you can say Ferguson is rotten as a footballer would indicate you probably couldn`t trap a wet bladder on a muddy pitch!

I remember all the back page spreads that he wanted to play at a higher level etc.

Don`t believe everything you read in the papers!

Oh and that much vaunted season you talk about....was 2003 under McLeish when the Bears won the treble.

He also won the writers and players player of the year in that year and overall has scored 58 times for Rangers from midfield.

You`ll remember 2003 of course I`m sure!

What a silly wee fanny you are.

Lets see if I've got this right Hun, by your recollection Murray calls Ferguson in and puts this to him, 'Look Barry we're short of cash and you could do with extra dough so here's a wee whiz, you go to Blackburn and it's a money win win all round and helps us out of a bind, furthermore because you're a teddy through and through you can come back any time, btw I've mentioned this to Blackburn and they're all for it'.

So fair enough Hun, that stands to sense and my take is based on hearsay and the Fud never signed a contract with Rangers a week before he fecked them off for Blackburn, wakey wakey CLOWN.

Hearsay on my part and Feckin Fantasy on yours.

The difference was that they actually played open attacking football and it worked. Smith may have to adopt this policy to score in Italy.

Werder, Sporting and Panathinaikos were all poor defensive units ... The Viola are a different kettle of fish altogether. They tore Everton apart at home and adopted a negative approach in the away leg, similar to the one at Ibrox.

You are correct, it was McLeish, not Advocaat, my apologies.

To address a couple of your other points, you're telling me not to believe direct Barry Ferguson quotes that appeared in every newspaper and on the telly? He wanted out, realised he was wrong (or couldn't cut it elsewhere, most likely) and moved back.

The reason Ferguson is a terrible player is because he just doesn't do it for Rangers when it matters, and to me that is the most useless of player - one who does it for you in the run-of-the-mill games but is an empty shirt when you need a bit of ability. He is horribly incosistent, rarely makes a telling pass and despite your stats of him scoring 58 in total for Rangers, how many has he managed this season?

A player who never really had it and is now past it.

P.S. yes, my first touch is appalling, it's long been the weakest part of my game but I'm a centre-half, and unless I'm playing for Barcelona I think most teams will forgive me it if I win my headers and tackles.

Your the fuckin` clown. It wasn`t as straight forward as `I want to play at a higher level`, `I want more money`, `I don`t want to play at Rangers!`

It makes me laugh when p***ks like you go on assumption without actually knowing the facts! wink.gif
SandyCromarty
What part of 'I don't want to play for Rangers', don't you understand? as in ' Cheerio I'm off to Blackburn for more Money'

Would you support Rangers today and then support St Mirren or Aberdeen tomorrow even if you were offered money to do so?, would you feck !!!!!!!!because you are Rangers through and through, and if Barry Ferguson was the same as you, he would NEVER EVER haf left Rangers , money or no money, get it into your thick skull that he's a money grabbing wee sheit, he used and abused the Rangers fans for his own ends and I don't like his hypocritical bleating about he is a Rangers man, believe me if another big money offer came in today he'd be gone tomorrow and I wouldn't blame him as I think that all professional footballers are ENTITLED to ply their trade as they wish.
Fregusons much proclaimed loyalty is only there to pander to daft feckers.

What nonsense. I am Celtic through and through but that doesn't mean, if was playing for them, that I would stay with the club all my career.

Barry Ferguson was quite right to move on and test himself in a far better league, playing against far better players week in week out. That he embarrassed himself with the move is neither here nor there.

I cannot comment that Barry Ferguson has not been a great player for Rangers as i don't watch enough of their games except when they're playing us. But i can comment on the fact that he(and several others) is not consistent enough when he pulls on the scotland top.
