Youth set-ups are more common in recent years, but Willie Miller was a one club man, joining Aberdeen after leaving school. Maurice Malpas and Paul Sturrock both only played at Senior level for Dundee United, though Luggy was a registered St Johnstone player. Paul McStay only played for Celtic.

In the modern game, players seem to want to move on for a pay rise eventually so a one club man in today's world is a real rarity - unless the club already pays big bucks and wins trophies i.e. the Man Utd guys. Any move for them's downwards.

Willie Miller did have a season on loan to Peterhead.

You are right, but Peterhead were a Highland side at the time. Jim Leighton I think was put out to Deveronvale a few years later.

If Russell Anderson had stayed at Aberdeen for the rest of his career instead of moving to Sunderland, would he have been denied the tag of One Club Man because he was loaned to Dyce Juniors as a 17 year old in 1995? Up until the formation of the SPL in 1998, Aberdeen had a policy of putting their youth teams out for experience, some went Junior, some went to the Highland League. Former Stranraer man Robert Bell, who recently retired from Rob Roy, was loaned to Crombie Sports in 1994, as was Stephen Glass. Dennis Wyness to FC Stoneywood, Greig McCulloch to Banchory St Ternan.

Paolo Maldini is probably the best current example for a 'one club player'

1984–present

Matt McPhee, Stirling Albion 1967 - 1981; 501 + 54 appearances, then went to Meadowbank for half a season before calling it a day.

How about Ross Caven with Queen's Park, 1982 to 2002, 575 starts (19 sub appearances) and 103 goals?

BANKIEBILL
The peerless - James "Fonzie" Fallon. Only senior club as a player was the Bankies - signed as a schoolboy in 1967 making a total of 769 appearances for the club until retiring in 1987 - scoring 33 goals in the process. A legend and the first ( joint ) entrant to the Clydebank FC - Hall of Fame.
Rinky Sidebottom
Paul Madeley. Born in Leeds in 1944. Played 536 games for Leeds United & finally retired in 1980. Sadly Madeley suffers ill health now, he has Parkinsons disease and in 2002 he suffered a heart attack.

Duracell Bunny
Ryan Giggs is 2 games away from breaking Bobby Charlon's record for United (759 apperances) United have two games to go so looks like he will break it this season.

1950 - 1973 @ Leeds United (773 Appearances) Scored 96 goals. Never played for any other club. Will be 74 on Wednesday.

The best active 1 club player has got to be Maldini at Milan. Seven Scudettos, 5 Champions Leagues, over 1,000 appearance for Milan in a 24 year career (so far) and one of the best defenders of all time.
ClydeSI
I think Ross McFarlane at Clyde in the 80's only had one professional club.

He also played with Queen's Park for a few seasons before going to Clyde.

He was also the first ex-pro Queen's signed after relaxing their rules and allowing ex-pros to sign in 1994, made his second "debut" at Montrose and was sent off for violent conduct (a head butt I think) and was never seen again.

I know that. Hence the word "professional".

Did he ever score for Queens? Cause he famously never scored for us!

There's also Killie Legend Garry Hay.
