After another dismal season watching the Jags, is Ian McCall really any better than Dick. McCall has now had the full season the firhill faithfull requested and where has it got us.

Last season

1. Gretna FC 66
2. St Johnstone FC 65
3. Dundee FC 36 53
4. Hamilton Academicals 53
5. Clyde FC Cumbernauld 47
6. Livingston FC 45
7. Partick Thistle Glasgow45
8. Queen of the South 36 41
9. Airdrie United 40
10. Ross County FC Dingwall 37

This Season

1 Hamilton 36 35 76

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2 Dundee 69
3 St Johnstone 58
4 Queen of South 52
5 Dunfermline 51
6 Partick 45
7 Livingston 39
8 Morton 37

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

9 Clyde 37

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

10 Stirling 24

So we are in a similar league position, same number of points and playing the same boring football, 3 goals in 11 games I make it ! I know poeple will post and say we got humped 4-0 at home by Clyde last season etc etc but is that really any worse than 3-0 at Home to Morton ?

The cup run was very similar, both managers getting to the same round only to be knocked out by an SPL club

Last season we had a host of Pish players, Brady , Gibson etc but were the really worse than Kinninburgh (on a 2.5 year deal) Simon storey (who hasnt kicked a ball since Dorrans has the pants off him months back) Paul Keegan (the worst target man in Scottish football ) Mooc (Who ??? )

Opinions please.....

Much happier than I was last season.

You're so tedious JFK. Nowhere to be seen when we're doing well, then we go on a rubbish run and you come out the woodwork.

Hopefully you get banned from this forum like you did on .net.
SaintSam
In fairness, TA, I asked the same question and you gave me a serious response.

Is it the feeling surrounding the club that has changed? Answer me honestly, are you disappointed not to have progressed on last season in terms of points?

You deserved a response because I assumed you were asking a serious question, he/she is doing it to get a rise.

Ian MacCall at least brings a feel good factor. I think we're definitely a better team than last year and I think most would agree.

We battered nearly every team we played at home around christmas but just kept drawing. In the 1st last year we never really took a team to pieces like we have at Firhill this season. Clyde, Livi, Hamilton have all received drubbings.

I think Buchanan's loss has been massive. If QOTS didn't have Dobbie they'd be in a similar situation to ourself because they have no depth in strikers. Your team are lucky in that they do.

It's good seeing good football, which I haven't really seen since Lambie left. Also, finally getting some sort of youth development in place will be good as Strachan's the only player I've really seen come through at Firhill.

JFK, you're a cretinous little shite. And a miserable bugger to boot.

We've been, far and away, much much much better than last season. We havent had the pants shagged off us at any point this season. No 6-0, 5-1, 4-0 defeats at home. If last seasons team had gone to Ibrox they would have been picked apart in a matter of minutes AND (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) for once we have good young talented players coming through the youth system.

McCall has also found some fantastic players from the lower divisions (Buchanan, Chaplain etc.) and some cracking youngsters from the SPL (Twaddle, Kinninburgh and to a lesser extent, McStay)

But wait, your just looking for reasons to piss and moan like and impotent arse. Which funnily enough was the reason you were booted off .net.

Why not enjoy the season, as we have put in some fantastic performances, unlike last season when we were about as effective as a blind sterile man in a whorehouse.

Enjoy youre teams performances and stop acting like a bloody child.

Oh and p.s What a bloody pathetic thread this was in the first place.

Rant over

oh 2nd p.s. You need your oats, badly, JFK laugh.gif

Goals conceded at home during 2006/7 = 33.

Goals conceded at home during 2007/8 = 15.

That, for me, is a huge improvement and something to build on.

Shut up for god sake McCall is 10 times the man that Campbell is for instance McCall has looked to the future and brought up and even given some of the younger boys a chance, Dick Campbell - well, i very much doubt that was on his agenda of securing a long term future for the club youth system wise. Mccall even has the balls to release someone too !
Loki
Campbell was an idiot and still got sacked at County depsite being top of the league. Partick did the correct thing in geting rid of him, and in all honesty Partick have had very little to play for over the last four or five games. Partick Thistle were the worst side in the First last year over the second half of the season, and their blistering start saved them from a real dogfight down the bottom.
Dr. Name
Difference is, with the quality of teams this season and how close the league has been bottom and top, we would have been easily relegated under DC and his players if the last regime was still present.
Juan Sara
I think that Ian McCall is a great manager in this division he proved that with Falkirk and his Thistle side this season proved a threat to every team.
