I have created a petition for the SPL to be increased to 16 teams.

The reason it was requested was to rip the piss out of Senior Management vetoing anything that might actually achieve something.

Anybody who thinks clubs in the SPL will not only play less games (losing gate money etc etc) and splitting tv money between more clubs is fucking deluded

No, the SPL would just have more shite teams and make the national players play against more shite.

While I do want a 16 team league, you could get 1 million signatures and it would still count for bugger all, so these petitions are meaningless. The SPL couldn't care less what people want.

I am assured that a 16 team SPL would be good for football but be bad for Celtic,Rangers,Aberdeen,Hearts,Hibs,Falkirk,ICT,Dundee Utd and St Mirren and is unlikely to get approval.

I heard it would be good for Kilmarnock and Motherwell

The premier league should be ten teams like it used to be with two relegation places. That was the best set up it ever had.

Yes because clubs are going agree to split their money with another 4 clubs & have 3 less home games a season!

1976 was the biggest mistake ever in Scottish football, from 18 teams to a mini league of 10 teams with a fifth of the league relegated [2]. The SPL really is shambolic, does any other league in Europe have teams playing each other 4 times, with 44 league games and the "legendary" split.

The SPL does't have 44 games the last time I checked.

Keep as it is, 1 up 1 down is fine....... Self Preservation League for us.

Is there no a petition for a 2 team SPL...Rangers and Celtic, they can just play each other 36 times a season, then split the remaining teams into 2 19 team leagues playing each other 1 home and 1 away fixture, then dump the rest into another amatuer league .
