Now the Pars have only got McIntyre for a strikeforce for next season as Burchill rejected a new deal and Crawford was not offered a new deals.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...tic/7365622.stm

A bit dissapointed as he has been playing well recently since hes started to play up front.
Any 1st division clubs interested?
Dundee Par
Only reason I can think of is because of the money?

He's about the only one who has even looked like caring recently and still has a bit of class about him. Will be sad to see him go.
Scofield
What a fucking ridiculous decision. Crawford is so far ahead of the team it's unreal.

McIntyre is loking like he's not up to the job.
qos_75
I wouldn't mind having him at Palmerston next season.
DA Baracus
Don't be silly. We can't afford to keep Crawford, at least on the wages he was on. It was always the plan that the wages would be cut if we didn't get promoted. It's nothing to do with McIntyre 'being up for the job'.

Crawford is no longer being paid by the businessman and his wages are in line with the rest of the squad. He hasn't been offered a deal, not even at reduced rates. This decision is about football alone, which adds to my opinion that McIntyre isn't capable of being our manager.

mad.gif Ridiculous decision .Crawford the only class player we've got.How can a twat like Simmons be offered a new contract and total dross like Burke get a 2 year deal?Next season looking like mid table medocrity.
Parscelona
Don't really see much of a problem to be honest. Crawford's goals record isn't exactly outstanding, he's 34 years old and lets face it he's past his best.

So Ross County, you want Crawford aswell? laugh.gif

I suppose they're the second biggest team in Fife if he doesn't want to move far.

Looks like Dunfermline might have a chance next season if they keep getting rid of the overpaid has beens.

If they get in some players with a point to prove, along with their experienced players they might get somewhere.

Spoke to him very recently and money was not going to be an issue, he was hoping and wanting to finish his career at the Pars and hopefully be in a title winning team next season.

I think you may find that as he is a professional and he didn't join the clique back at the start of the season has had a bearing on this decision as others have said he played and made an effort for all the managers.

I know a number of directors will be very unhappy about this and could possibly jepodise further investment.

Jimmy Mac will really need to have some exciting prospects signed up to win over fans and directors while he's making decisions like this along with Simmons, Burke.

Actually a reason to go to the game on Saturday now just to give him a proper send off can also do that for Simmons and Burchill while I'm there.

Thanks for the memories biggrin.gif

If that's true then McIntyre better have at least 1 very good striker lined up, as although he is past his best, he is still more than capable of doing a job in this league.

Alex Burke's preferred position is upfront, so you'll be fine.

Upset and not impressed. Crawford just needs a nippy wee striker he can give through balls to. Really like Crawford so pretty much gutted sad.gif
19QOS19
If you got a striker that can win the ball in the air and bring it down then i'd have him and Burke upfront, Burke and O'Connor were absolutely brilliant together and went on a spell where they were ripping defences to pieces! Put Burke upfront and he will score! Put him on the wing then you're asking for trouble!

Maybe McIntyre seems himself playing in that role? unsure.gif

Glad he's gone.
If a one goal a season ratio is pars fans idea of success.

Also will free up money for next season.

Have heard Dundee are interested in him, although i'm sure it's just pure fabrication. I would be surprised if correct.

Gutted to be honest, i suppose its partly nostalgia but I do think he was one of the only players we have with a footballing brain.

Yes we need new young talent but we need GOOD professional players to help the young'uns and Crawford is definitely one of those.

Thanks for the memories Craw! sad.gif

Crawford is a hard one to decide on. If this was pre-2004, I'd have him definetely in the Livi side but unfortunately it's not. I think I'd rather give one of our youngsters a chance in the first team over Crawford's aging, all be it still skillful, person.

Stevo Fife
Crawford was at Bayview on Tuesday teatime. I was picking stuff up i ordered from the club and he was in the foyer having what seemed a casual chat with one of the directors.

Can Crawford honestly think that at this stage of his career that he is likely to move somewhere that will offer him a wage rise? huh.gif It must be that he's just not wanted.

Glorious return to Starks Park?
Larbert_Par
Pissed off at this. Crawford is one of the very few in our squad that has anything resembling a footballing brain. At times, he's always one step ahead of everyone else.

And along with one or two others, he actually cares about whats been happening to us.

My question is, where the hell is JM going to get someone of similar ability? The jury is well out for me.

All the best to the Craw, should still be at EEP next season.

There is no way that Crawford was on 4k a week. Not with our financial troubles and not at his age.

Did he not sign that contract in the halcyon days of the SPL?

I would not think so.He is well past his sell by date! But it was obvious that after a season where Dunfermline underachieved, they would have to cut the wage bill. They expected to go straight back up,now they have to cut their cloth accordingly. They could end up like us,Dundee and Saint Johnstone and could be in this Division for a few years.

Back in 2003, and he left in 2004.

When he resigned 2 years ago it was on a fraction of that wage.

Crawford's wages were reported to be about £4k but the majority of this was being paid by a local businessman. His goal scoring record this season is awful.

pretty sure it was £2k in the SPL with the club paying £1500 and Mr ******** paying £500, that extra £500 stopped as soon as we were relegated with the club only paying £1500.
Certain other players were on more and still remain on more than that.
Others have re-signed on reduced wages as Crawford was expecting to do.
Wage budget set to between a third and a quarter of last season.
Mushroom
If he would be willing to fit into our wage structure, I'd take him at Broadwood.
