I was going to wait but seeing as how everyone else is posting their threads early, I thought why not. I know this isn't just a few questions but I thought about every question I could possibly ask. Good Luck laugh.gif

David W
Your Team

Your Best Player Of The Season: David Hutton. McLennan has been okay and Clarke looks ace since coming in during the January transfer window but Hutton is comfortably our PotY.

Your Worst Player Of The Season: Andrew Traub.

Your Team's Best Performance: 1-0 vs Dundee away. Defended comfortably then struck well on the break to sneak the game.

Your Team's Worst Performance: 3-1 defeat vs Stirling.

The Team You Gubbed: The only sides we've beaten by more than a goal this season are Stirling and Montrose, both 2-0. Montrose had plenty of chances and the second came in stoppage time, so I suppose it'd better be Stirling.

Best Managerial Decision: laugh.gif

Worst Managerial Decision: Div McGowan up front, or playing Neil McGregor in midfield against QotS when we had two midfielders on the bench.

Most Improved Player: Tough one. Div MacKay has been a lot better since pushed out wide, so probably him. All the ones that have been here since August have gone backwards.

The Player Who Disappointed You Most: Christian Smith showed signs of developing into a decent player November/December time but has gone back to being rubbish. Won't pick him though as he always puts in the effort/fight that others don't. You could pick 7 or 8 others at least but I'd go with McGregor. On his day he's as good as anyone in the division but despite generally playing okay, he consistently produces moments of complete lunacy that have cost us hugely.

Player Of The Year: Hutton and McLennan both picked up awards.

Rest Of The League

The Best Team You Watched: Over 20 minutes, Livi on the 15th December. Since January, Queens. Over the season, Hamilton.

The Worst Team You Watched: Would have to say us, just ahead of Dundee. Given that Thistle, St Johnstone, Morton, Dunfermline, Livi, Hamilton, Stirling and Queens have all been dreadful in spells (ranging from 45 minutes in the case of Hamilton, to every game for Dunfermline), it sums up how rubbish the division has been this year.

Underperformers Of The Season: St Johnstone.

Overachievers Of The Season: Dundee.

Sitting Back XI: Us under Colin Hendry.

Hackers XI: The stats don't lie - we've had a ridiculous number of cards this year. Gary McKenzie deserves a mention for escaping a red card despite three red card offences in one game.

Long Ball XI: Partick Thistle and that was with Damon Gray up front huh.gif Worked perfectly though.

Football Playing XI: Livi in spells, probably Queens overall.

The Best Player: James McArthur by miles.

The Worst Player: Traub for us, Daquin in general.

Cart-Horse Of The Season: Brian Wake.

Manager Of The Season: Billy Reid.

Days Out

Best Day Out You Had: 2 stoppage time goals at Morton.

Worst Day Out You Had: Hamilton last weekend.

Best Away Stadium: Livingston.

Worst Away Stadium: Thistle.

Best Food: Dunfermline steak bridies biggrin.gif

Worst Food: Can't remember buying much else, though my hot chocolate at St Johnstone was minging.

Best Bargain: £3 to get in at Queens.

Biggest Rip-Off: The Irn Bru Scottish First Division.

Best Crowd Noise: Opening day at Morton was good all round.

Worst Crowd Noise: Night game vs St Johnstone. You could literally hear everything the players were saying.

Law & Order

Best Referee: I always like Willie Collum but John Underhill is the best in Scotland.

Worst Referee: Mike Tumilty. His display vs Livingston in September was the worst I've ever seen, or am ever likely to see. Three non-existant penalties, three non-existant red cards, a host of ridiculous yellows.

Best Decision: Can't think of anything in particular - this has been a poor season for referees and I'm pretty reasonable towards them.

Worst Decision: Linesman vs Livi giving offside when Griffiths passed to himself.

Club With Best Stewarding: Plenty of good stewards - us, Hamilton, Thistle etc. In other words, the ones that don't care.

Club With Worst Stewarding: Dundee.

And Finally...

Were you pleased with how your team finished in the table? - Not yet. Either way, given the basis Hendry had to work with, we should have been mid-table with a good pre-season and signings for the right positions.

Were you satisfied with the entertainment? - I've enjoyed 4/5 games this season. We lost two of them 3-2 (Morton opening day, Hamilton in January). Also liked the two wins vs Livi and the win in Perth was a reasonable game.

What could your team improve on? - Stop messing things up when we're in a good position. Get a decent manager, have a consistent pre-season, bring in required players before August 31st (or later) and play attacking football.

And where do you see yourselves this time next year? - Second division, 4th.
The Real Saints
Your Team

Your Best Player Of The Season: There are a few candidates, but I think it has to be Andy Jackson for making the breakthrough into the first team so successfully, and deservedly taking his place among the top scorers in the division. Other possible options have been at the club for too short a time (Deuchar, Quinn, Craig, Morris etc.)

Your Worst Player Of The Season: Between John Stewart and Dyron Daal, but at least the latter made an effort once on the pitch. So John Stewart for me.

Your Team's Best Performance: A few options - the recent cup match against Rangers was impressive, yet heartbreaking. Other good performances were the 3-1 victory over St. Mirren, 4-1 v. Hamilton, and 5-2 v. Livingston. I think I'll opt for the latter. It was particularly impressive as it came at a time when we were playing some of our poorest football of the season, and were continually drawing games.

Your Team's Worst Performance: Too many to choose from. Our first half away to Dundee in the 3-2 defeat was appalling. However, the second half was an improvement. I'll have to choose the 3-1 defeat to Queens. Outfought and outplayed.

The Team You Gubbed: Livingston. (Also Hamilton tongue.gif)

Best Managerial Decision: The decision to stick with 4-3-3, and the signing of Liam Craig. The loan signing of Quinn and the ability to bring in a player of Morris' calibre, to a lesser extent. The 4-3-3 formation has also worked particularly well.

Worst Managerial Decision: Hasn't been at the club long enough to make any mistakes yet, though the alleged signing of Ryan Stevenson could be a gamble.

Most Improved Player: Andy Jackson. Can't believe he's the same boy who panicked when one-on-one with the Motherwell keeper last season. Vast improvement in confidence in front of goal.

The Player Who Disappointed You Most: Steven Milne. Hasn't reached the heights of previous seasons since coming back from injury. Lost his composure in front of goal.
Dyron Daal also receives an honourable mention.

Player Of The Year: Again, Andy Jackson.

Rest Of The League

The Best Team You Watched: Dundee always impress me when against us.

The Worst Team You Watched: I'll have to say Livingston as we've achieved comfotable victories against them.

Underperformers Of The Season: Has to be Dunfermline.

Overachievers Of The Season: Don't think any team has overachieved.

Sitting Back XI: Hamilton. 'Sitting back' being an alternative expression for time-wasting. wink.gif

Hackers XI: None.

Long Ball XI: I'd have to vote for ourselves.

Football Playing XI: Dundee or Queen of the South

The Best Player: Stephen Dobbie.

The Worst Player: I couldn't say.

Cart-Horse Of The Season: Sol Bamba.

Manager Of The Season: Billy Reid.

Days Out

Best Day Out You Had: Palmerston on opening day of season, or Hampden last week.

Worst Day Out You Had: Our 1-0 defeat to Clyde.

Best Away Stadium: I like East End Park. Palmerston's also nice.

Worst Away Stadium: Broadwood.

Best Food: Never actually eaten anything at other grounds.

Worst Food: As above.

Best Bargain: As above.

Biggest Rip-Off: As above.

Best Crowd Noise: McBreen's goal v. Rangers

Worst Crowd Noise: The usual boos after a poor result, or the constant slating of Derek McInnes when he played.

Law & Order

Best Referee: None.

Worst Referee: None.

Best Decision: Don't know.

Worst Decision: The referee at Livingston ordering the penalty to be retaken etc. etc. Shambles.

Club With Best Stewarding: Don't know.

Club With Worst Stewarding: Probably Dundee.

And Finally...

Were you pleased with how your team finished in the table? - No, not at all.

Were you satisfied with the entertainment? - Mostly, no. Although winning the Challenge Cup was nice, and the trip to Hampden was a wonderful experience.

What could your team improve on? - Winning games rather than drawing!

And where do you see yourselves this time next year? - I am fairly conifident in McInnes' judgement, and fully believe we WILL win the league next season. I say this every year, but this time I believe it more than ever.

Your Worst Player Of The Season: Gary Twigg

Skyline Drifter
Your Team

Your Best Player Of The Season:
I voted for Stephen Dobbie. He has at times provided magic on the park that I've never seen from anyone in a Queens shirt before. At times he is genuinely unplayable for defenders at this level. However, he just shaded out Stevie Tosh for me who has been at the heart of our revival since he moved into centre midfield. You could easily make a case for about four or five others though such as been our season.

Your Worst Player Of The Season:
I prefer not to nominate any of our players as "worst".

Your Team's Best Performance:
I guess you'd have to say the Aberdeen cup semi final rather obviously though some of the defending was schoolboy error strewn. In league terms it might actually be the early season 1-0 over Livi. Liberda stopped that from being an absolute rout. Failing that either home game against St Johnstone, the second one probably shading out the first one on the grounds that we didn't chuck it away in the last minute. dry.gif

Your Team's Worst Performance:
The 2-0 away defeat at St Johnstone in October was a low point in league terms. No disgrace in losing in Perth but we were insipid that day. Defeats at Clyde and East Fife in the two minor cups were disappointing but I missed the Clyde game and I still think we were a bit unlucky at East Fife.

The Team You Gubbed:
Took Peterhead for five and Linlithgow for four in the cup. Biggest league win was 4-1 at Clyde a few weeks ago. However we beat Dundee four times so whilst none was individually "a gubbing" we did in effect gub them over the season.

Best Managerial Decision:
Accepting MacFarlane and Scally can't be shoehorned into the same team and sticking Tosh in the middle with one of them (Scally initially though MacFarlane got back in due to injury and raised the bar still further).

Worst Managerial Decision:
Trying to play the aforementioned central pairing for the first couple of months.

Most Improved Player:
Tosh is a much improved player in the centre of the park where he can influence games.

The Player Who Disappointed You Most:
I expected more from Brian Gilmour but maybe we haven't given him his head in the position he'd be most effective in. I thought David Bingham would have offered more too.

Player Of The Year:
Stephen Dobbie got it.

Rest Of The League

The Best Team You Watched:
In terms of a one off performance Morton were exceptional in their 3-1 win at Palmerston in November. Nobody the whole rest of the season came close to playing us off the park the way they did. They were however dreadful in all our other games. Dundee and St Johnstone at times looked very good but were also capable of being very brittle at times. I don't actually think Hamilton ever looked that outstanding against us but they also never really looked like they might fall apart either apart from maybe 20 minutes in their first Palmerston game.

The Worst Team You Watched:
Clyde. Easily. Their last two games against us have been awful.

Underperformers Of The Season:
Has to be Dunfermline. I never thought they'd bounce straight back up but they have a big name squad and they actually flirted with relegation for a good while.

Overachievers Of The Season:
If we're including cup results then I guess, us!

In league terms I actually think Dundee did impressively well to take the fight as long as they did. Maybe it was just against us but they never really looked that good to me and they are very dependent on their talented young midfielders.

Sitting Back XI:

Hackers XI:

No idea. Can't think anyone stood out as any worse than any other.

Long Ball XI:
Likewise I don't think anyone spent their season launching long balls upfield.

Football Playing XI:
Probably Hamilton more than anyone else I suppose.

The Best Player:
Kevin McDonald (Dundee)

The Worst Player:
Not sure. Possibly Christian Smith at Clyde. He's looked out of his depth a couple of times.

Cart-Horse Of The Season:
Although he had at least one game where he was excellent against us Ryan Harding at Morton has been the very definition of "cart horse" at times also.

Manager Of The Season:
Definitely Billy Reid from other teams.

Days Out

Best Day Out You Had:
It would have to be the cup semi final I spent with 10,004 other Doonhamers. biggrin.gif

Worst Day Out You Had:
There's been bad ones? I can barely remember any! Seriously the disappointment of losing 1-0 at home to a very poor Dunfermline side thanks to an argument between our players about who was taking a last minute penalty was very down-heartening.

Best Away Stadium:
McDiarmid Park

Worst Away Stadium:
Dens Park

Best Food:
I rarely eat at grounds.

Worst Food:
See above.

Best Bargain:
??

Biggest Rip-Off:
The price of food at Dundee, though forewarned after last season I didn't bother this year.

Best Crowd Noise:
When the final whistle went at Hampden or when we scored the first.

Worst Crowd Noise:
How silent we were initially at Hampden. I think everyone was just fazed by the surroundings. Fortunately the players weren't.

Law & Order

Best Referee:
Mike McCurry. I also really rate Kenny Clark though

Worst Referee:
Chris Boyle as usual. I really don't think much of Steve Conroy either.

Best Decision:
Kenny Clark's not to give a penalty despite 14,000 sheep appealling (wrongly) for it en masse at Hampden.

Worst Decision:
Chris Boyle missing a blatant shove on Steve Tosh in the final minute allowing James McCarthy to poke home a last minute equaliser for Accies at Palmerston. I still can't believe he didn't see it.

Honourable mention to Steve Conroy for the most ludicrous handball penalty given against us I've ever seen in the Morton home game.

I guess I should also mention that Willie Collum missed John Stewart punching one into the net v Thistle last week but I missed it too at the time so it's hard to criticise him for it.

Club With Best Stewarding:
Us. unsure.gif

Club With Worst Stewarding:
Dundee

And Finally...

Were you pleased with how your team finished in the table? -
Yes, though if we'd started playing a bit earlier it might even have been better.

Were you satisfied with the entertainment? -
You bet.

What could your team improve on? -
Improve. On this season! blink.gif

And where do you see yourselves this time next year? -
In all likelihood, NOT looking forward to watching us in the Scottish Cup Final. laugh.gif

In all likelihood, NOT looking forward to watching us in the Scottish Cup Final. laugh.gif

I don't understand how Dens Park is the best stadium yet has the worst stewarding? That would completely blight my opinon of the ground as a whole.

On a sidenote, I would seriously like to either shake your hand or get you autograph. Most sensible poster on the internet

I voted Dens the WORST Stadium, not the best. McDiarmid is the best.

To be honest the stewarding thing is by reputation from what my friends tell me anyway. I don't sit in the away end.
