Seriously?! That's an excellent gesture from Partick! (but no doubt if Partick do shit next year McCall will complain that its due to lack of funds because kids aren't paying to get in laugh.gif )

No information on next season's ticket prices, but I would expect an increase in the price, with the lack of promotion having a knock-on effect on finances. sad.gif
I hope I am proven wrong though.

My student ticket for this season at Dens was £94 for early bird or £99 normally.

It's stayed like that for umpteen seasons now (even in the SPL) and I'd expect it to be around the same for next season.

Thanks to those who have signed this so far.

The problem with expenses was re-emphasised tonight, including refusing my entry to to the game as a student despite having a vaild student card.

Less than 300 home fans as well.

I don't see whats so shocking about it, why should students get reduced prices anyway? I'm guessing due to the financial hardship that they are supposedly enduring, but if thats the case why isn't there a "recently made redundant" ticket, or "working for minimum wage and have 3 kids" ticket. Most students I know are on the piss more than I am and I'm now bursting my balls working for a living while they take degrees in "american history" or "fine art and bum pokery" waste of time. Make them pay more at the gate then return the money to tax payers to subsidise their absolute wasteage. (unless they are doing a constructive degree, like I did Bsc Engineering biggrin.gif) Ther rest of these pompus twats should stump up thou! I had a part time job as a student and with burseries and loans etc, I wasn't that bad off really.

OI! I've got an Honours Degree in Advanced Bum Pokery!

Seriously though, for the most part I agree with your post. You could often tell the difference in social class at Uni, with the "ordinary punters" doing practical subjects and the "rich kids" fucking about at the Art School.

I'm stereotyping, I know, and there are exceptions to the divide.

Anyway, back on topic - the football's too expensive. No wonder crowds have dwindled over the years.

I am 17, I am at school. I technically should pay full price at every ground in div 1 except QoS and Clyde (but thats only because the season ticket is under 18)

Point taken?
Mon The Clyde
I see next season's Clyde season ticket is now under 16, not 18.

Bit a problem for you then eh OC!

They don't seriously expect to charge children (16-18) in school £240 for a season book do they?

Whatever you do, don't buy one, at least not yet.

That is fucking scandalous actually.

Your average working adult will earn about £550 p/w (based on the figures I can find anyway) so thats just over half a weeks salary.

How many school pupils earn £240 in a month?

and thats just the ones that actually have a job!

ohmy.gif

The average working adult makes £550 per week! Not in this area they don't. That's over £28k per annum. Maybe in the big cities and with skewed mean averages caused by the big earners being included. I bet the median earners don't earn anything like that.

Not that I actually see the problem with a season ticket costing half a week's salary per se.

The stats I found are obviously flawed then, but the point was really how long would it take an average 16/17 year old to earn £240 much compared your average 41 year old.

It is all irrelevant now as an indignant phonecall has confirmed the website was wrong - the full price is for over 18's.
