Full Version: Cheating Huns Get Their Wish!
The Pie Shop > SPL and SFL Football > Rangers v Celtic, Celtic v Rangers

As every tim knew only to well the huns have been secretly putting pressure on for a league extension for weeks through the usual laptop loyal, Daryl king, Andy Devlin, Daily record ,The sun etc etc.... Even though Walter the traitor told us only last week "we don't wont any favors" surprise surprise http://www.scotprem.premiumtv.co.uk/page/N...1295430,00.html

Disgrace, conspiracy, bending over backwards to help the Huns, generic outrage etc.

I think all this does it show how incompetent a body the Scottish Premier League really is.
No8.
It would all be academic if Referees were just a little stronger in front of the MOPE rolleyes.gif

Let's be honest anyway, they've very little chance of making the UEFA Cup Final unless Tim Wiese is on loan at Fiorentina.
minesapint
Whatever decision it was always going to enrage fans, with the Celtic support saying 'we never got it when we made the UEFA cup final and took 150,000 fans to Seville' (it was 150,000 wasn,t it or has it gone up again?)

And the Rangers fans saying 'its not our fault so many games were postponed and can't get fitted in now'

I have to say, this season has thrown up a lot of unusual events, Fir Park beaing unplayable for weeks, postponements due to Phil O'Donnells sad death, the Old Firm involvement in Europe... its all there!

It is virtually impossible to try and re-accommodate all the geames into the end of season programme, and the teams will just need to get on with it.

I happen to think the fixture pile up is an ideal situation for Celtic, so I don,t know what all their fans are going on about!! You only have the league to play for with a full and fit squad!! And I guarantee you if you win the League you'll all laugh saying the 'huns' bottled it and threw it away, and they will say the league ficture pile up cost them!!!

What a funny old game!

I tend to agree there. Would any Celtic fans on here care to draw up their alternative fixture list, which they would find acceptable if they were in Rangers' shoes as things stand at the moment?

On a side note, regardless of when the season ends, I see Rangers are away to Aberdeen and Celtic are away to Dundee United on the last day of the season. Fuck travelling on a train/citylink bus that day!!!

So if there was 3 months of snow it would be ok to play a game every day to catch up
because hey rules is rules!!

Get a grip..

Is there actually a 'rule' stating that the season must UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES be extended beyond the scheduled end date?

Yeah its sitting infront of Peter Lawell and apparently every tic supporter has a copy to.

I`ve already said on this forum that I wanted Rangers to gain no extension because I still feel the title will be decided within the allocated time set.

However, no other country of our size in Europe, apart from this one, would hinder any team trying to win a European trophy.

I do think the SFA should have waited before announcing this, as Rangers next two games will have significant bearing on whether an extension is needed. ie If Fiorentina hump Rangers at Ibrox or we beat Celtic on Sunday!

In saying that, even with this new four day extension to accomodate the Gretna game, Rangers will still be in a situation of having to play 4 games in 10 days with the 4th game being a UEFA Cup Final if they manage to get past Fiorentina!

That in itself is ridiculous when Scottish football could benefit as well!

As for `youroldda` to call Rangers cheating huns when Rangers played no part in the fixture backlog except be successful is just stupid and a sad indictment of his and a few others mindset! sad.gif

I don't quite know where the 'cheating' comes from, but then why take anything he says seriously.

As for your part above, of course your club had a part to play in the fixture backlog. The Gretna game and the St Mirren game last year would not have been cancelled if you had not requested the former and agreed to the latter. Both games should not have been postponed and we wouldn't be in this situation if they had been played. The state of your pitch was also a factor in the East Stirling cup game being postponed again much of the blame could be laid at your door.

Re the Gretna game, I think it's safe to say that the cancelling of games to allow build up time to Scotland games/European club games will be a thing of the past after this season.

The New Year OF game could easily be added to that list of 'shouldn'ts'

Lets get something straight. From the end of the second world war untill season 89-90 (when the season was last extended), the season was extended 24 times in 44 seasons! The only reason this has not been a regular occurence of late is due to that fact that Scottish teams have been predominanly shite in europe and due to the introduction of under-soil heating. This has to lead us to question the motivation of Celtic. Can you honestly see Strachan questioning the leagues "integrity" if they were in such a fortunate position as to be still playing for all four trophies. I doubt it!

I can't see how that is the same thing as the cancellations of the Gretna game (for Lyon), St. Mirren (for Scotland) and East Stirling games(poor pitch).

The New Year Old Firm game was called off as a mark of respect for Phil O'Donnell, and Gordon Strachan said in an interview explaining why they asked for it that personal friends of O'Donnell's, such as Scott McDonald and Stephen McManus, were utterly shattered and in no frame of mind to play the Old Firm game. Not to mention Tommy Burns role as a coach wa sutterly compromised by the loss of one of his best friends.

Now, I know you're going to throw the Dundee United game at me, but I think the fact that was played was an utter disgrace. If the SPL were to agree to Celtic's request they should have agreed to United's, as they had more cause because they were actually on the scene at the time. However, the ever incompetent SPL did not and that's hardly Celtic's fault. I, personally, would have cancelled the entire card for at least two weeks after his death.

I'd be willing to bet money on their being a plethora of Burberry check clothing in your household and family celebrations jazzed up with the magnificent addition of a Sarah Lee frozen cake fae Iceland as a treat after your chippy.

I would also like to advise you that claiming Incapacity Benefit is not a job title on passport applications.

You've made a lot of good points there and generally it seems to have been a well thought out post. I especially liked the I WILL LITTERALLY RIP YER ARMS AFF N BATTER YER PALS WAE IT was just tremendous. The allusions to the Catholic Church's paedophile problems was also completely relevant to the discussion. Is THE PIGGERY some form of debating chamber?
