He is supposed to be an 'attacking midfielder' and he has scored about 3 goals all season in the 1st division, so, make your own mind up.

Hardly an attacking midfielder. Yes, he could do with scoring more goals but he is not primarily an attacking midfielder. His defensive contribution is unquestionable; a warrior on the park and a real modern day midfielder with bags of guts and determination, as well as a fine footballer. If he moves to Dundee Utd, then his ambition certainly doesn't match his potential. (and that's not a dig at Dundee Utd)

Scott Robertson is never an attacking midfielder. He's a defensive midfielder, McDonalds form has dipped because he was having to cover some of the ground that Scott would but he was injured. Very good player and still has developing to do, if he does move on i wish him all the best wherever he ends up.

Honestly, I have not been impressed with McDonald this season. I wasn't at the first game versus Dundee at Den's he may have been good then but in the 3 others he has played against us he has been average. James McArthur on the other hand as looked excellent.

It's got bugger all to do with the fact that Livi have raped us this year - it's to do with the ability of McDonald in comparison to Dorrans.

Most Accies fans would tell you the same. Not done anything against us anyway, On the other hand Dorrans had two fantastic games against us. Much better player IMO.

Both McDonald and Robertson have been class for us this season. Losing Robertson for part of the run-in seriously damaged our title challenge (in my opinion). As for McDonald he's still young and I think too much is expected of him sometimes. He has carried the team on several occassions.

It's probably down to the fact we have beat you 4 times out of 5. But they were both missing in the cup game anyway!

What is down to the fact you have beaten us 4 times out of 5? I'm not saying we would have beaten Queens in the cup with them in the team but it would certainly have helped us.

He's suggesting the fact that we've beaten you in all four games he's seen (and neither of them played in the cup game anyway) is probably clouding his judgement of Robertson and McDonald which is fair enough I'd say, though I don't agree with him.

For what it's worth I think McDonald is an outstanding midfield prospect and Robertson isn't all that far behind. I thought they both had tremendous games in your early season 2-1 win over us and I also thought they did well in your unlucky short handed defeat at Xmas at Palmerston. They didn't as stated play the cup game and I thought they were both poor on Saturday, particularly Robertson but then so were Dundee's whole team so it wouldn't be fair to single them out.

So four goals in the four games isn't enough to convince you otherwise?

Ah ok, I'm with you now. They are both class acts. Was suprised to see Robertson starting on saturday considering he only came off the bench the week before following his spell out through injury. Would be suprised if he was 100% match fit against Queens.

No, Dorrans did have good games against us but I feel McDonald is a better player, and that £250K is crazy money for Dorrans.
I know he scored and played well, but remember that we were absolutely shocking in two of those games, and he may as well have had no opposition. If we'd played the way we did at Almondvale every week, we'd be a mile behind in 10th place, so the goals from Dorrans aren't that great an acheivement.

Very much like scott as a player BUT......................if as he has professed - to be a dundee die hard and his family support dundee - then FFS don't sell your soul and cross over to scumland.
