Duncan Shearer was this afternoon sacked as manager of Buckie Thistle.
Harsh in some people eyes, As he has won several cups in recent years, However the board was expecting a better return to his £600 pw ,
Expecting Buckie to win there first league title in 50 years.
Next manager ?
Im hearing the manager of Ellon United who ever that is.

For an ignorant outsider like me it seems quite surprising but, judging by some Thistle fan's comments on the Lossie board, there were more than a few disgruntled souls among them.

Sacked with 1 game left, and still a chance of winning the league?!

Gregg Caroll will be the new Buckie manager, you heard it here first
Shearer was not that bad i blame the players. They won the 2 hardest cups in the league but yet the club Sack him. I thought it was harsh.

Haven't the Ellon guys just taken over at Vale from Caroll? This would would leave Caroll free for the Buckie job.

Its not harsh at all. Biggest game of the season on seterday and we go out and play it loike a friendly.
Duncan Shearer is a top bloke but that disna mak yi a top manager. The team were very good up until the Greenock Morton game. Since then weve struggled. Deveronvale slaughter Fort 11-0 we were very lucky to beat them 2-1 with our winner 4 mins into injury time.
Good luck to Duncan Shearer in what ever he does but yi winna find much Buckie supporters greeting over his sacking.

agree with buckie arab.
we havnt put in a good performance since the morton game and have been unable to beat any of the other title challengers.
and yes we can still win the league but does anyone seriously think that both cove and keith will drop points twice ? as thats the only way it can hapen now. remember cove only have 2 games left and keith only 3.
i think shearer took us as far as he could and we had no choice but to move on and find a new manager who can win us the league.

If Buckie's performance against Brora last week is indicative of their recent form then he deserved the boot. There can't have been too many games over the past few years we've dominated like we did that one.
Also, what's this guff about him being a nice guy? His berating of the linesmen in said game was an absolute disgrace. What's more the linesmen got pretty much every decision correct. It was not a good example for a Scotland international to set to the many young bairns at the game. He showed a complete lack of respect towards the officials.

as he did to buckie thistle, their supporters and the HFL in general if the flippant, arrogant remarks he was quoted as saying following his dismissal are correctly attributed(basically, ive been sacked by aberdeen before so who cares about being sacked by buckie).what a toss

Just to say that £600 a week in the highland league, if true, seems like a ridiculous sum of money. If that's true (which I question), he'll be earning considerably more than many league managers.
