Have downloaded from file sharing sites (Soulseek mostly, Napster back in the day) and a couple of torrents but by and large I pay for things - most things I'd download for free are because they're not readily available either on CD or from a legit source.

Use MySpace if they have the option under the song. Or search the band name, look everyone of them until you find the song and the random one's usually have the download. Free and no viruses (sp?).
