Sick of losing to Thistle so I have all body parts crossed that we may do the business tomorrow. Hopefully as it's the last game of the season at Almondvale, both teams will perform and it'll be a great game. With Hammil back in contention, the squad is slightly stronger and better placed to beat what in my mind is not a team that should be beating us regularly. Let's face it, Thistle have hardly been challenging for league honours.

So, last home game, several pints the wrong side of sober and 2-1 the Livi. GIRUY!!! wink.gif wink.gif

Hope they make some noise because by all accounts we're really up for this especially in support of Mark Proctor.

Hope to take three points tomorrow then no matter what score comes in elsewhere we'll not care, was a bit nervey last week especially when Morton pulled back to 2-2. Lead early and the whole way through this one will do me and my bowel just fine.
The Arch
I'm really looking forward to seeing Livingston's passing football tomorrow. They play football the "right way".

How much is it to get in tomorrow for students? I really don't want to pay £15 quid. Might climb up that grass bank instead, or just chill out in Lidl's.
Nizzy
It doesn't matter what the score is tomorrow, you'll still be our bitches.

I notice DD's neglected to make a prediction this time - good lad. wink.gif

Was trying to work out whether your use of the singular "bowel" is correct or not. Found a great link

http://www.familydoctor.co.uk/htdocs/BOWEL...S_specimen.html

which didn't really help but at least I am now very aware of the Bristol Stool Form Scale which may be of use on Saturday at 4.44pm.

But DD it is safe to say that it is still squeaky bum time, which if anything gives us something to play for and I am sure it willget the crowd going. I am thankful that unlike seasons in the past, our opponents have FA to play for other than pride.

I may be wrong, but I'm sure we've only scored two goals in the last five or six games - we certainly didn't look capable of scoring on Wednesday night. Kinniburgh's been a reliable, if somewhat shaky, replacement for Archie, but if Livi's much vaunted forward line is firing on all cylinders then I'd be worried. That's why I'd play Storey as sweeper.

Although we should be looking to finish as high up the table as possibel, I'd like to see the youth given a chance, even if that's just a place on the bench. It was clear the other night that we lost the midfield battle once McKinlay and McKeown had been subbed, so I'd like to see us line up:

Tuffey

Robertson Storey Twaddle

McKeown Rowson Harkins McKinlay

Donnelly

Roberts Eaglesham

I think Donnelly's been one of our more consistent performers recently and would keep him in the team at the expense of a fourth defender. McKeown and McKinlay have got enough bite about them to handle the defensive duties on the flanks.

I think Eaglesham looks a willing runner, and would benefit from the balls Donnelly's capable of playing. I'd have Gray on the bench due to our lack of striking options, but there's no way him or Keegan should be near a Thistle team again.

Stewart

James McCaffrey McPake McKay

Snodgrass Tinkler Fox Dorrans

Craig Griffiths

Tinkler can hang back and deal with anything Donnelly can offer (sitting on him etc) and a back three defence from Thistle will be welcome with Griffith's's, Dorrans and Snodgrass's pace.

This thread really does highlight how far Livi have fallen recently. A few years back they were winning League Cups, finishing third in the SPL and in European competition. Now, their fans are positively moist at the thought of not losing four First Division games to Partick Thistle in one season.

A few years back you were in the second division following back to back relegations with Whyte/Britton at the helm. Swings and roundabouts and all that.

I suppose us Livi fans are supposed to rise to that. Well I suppose you are right, a few years back we were winning a cup, playing in Europe and finishing 3rd in the SPL. Now look at us!
I remember waving at Kenny Arthur as he got on the Thistle bus in 2004. Fud waved back as he didn't realise I was waving you all goodbye to the 1st Division. Amazing how these things come back to bite you on the bum. Lesson to learn from this? Who cares, live the good times and brag about it whilst you can. I believe you guys won a cup in the seventies didn't you?

To be honest, my main concern tommorrow is getting the point (or points) that ensures we stay in Division 1. We need the defence to have a good day, and be able to keep Griffiths on the pitch - his injury at Clyde hampered our hopes for a result big time.

Thistle are never easy to play against, despite what some may argue as fairly mediocre form. Not that we've been flying, right enough. Hopefully Dorrans remebers he actually has a contract with us until AFTER the final day of the season. That could have a big impact.

You'll be lucky if you're bouncing about in the First Division next season matey. Four players signed up for next season and the possibility of Roddy Collins coming in as manager - I'd be bricking it if I were you.

Except we have more the four players. Still don't let facts get in the way of a good argument. Bouncing about in the First Division next season, one point from safety with two games left. We're not safe but we are hardly at death's door.

I can only go by what Livi fans say, and on the 'Players Leaving' thread Livi Kev says that Proctor has confirmed you have four players signed up for next season. Who's right?
TAFKAC
We don't have many but I presume the four refers to "first teamers". Therefore does not include Gary Miller (who has been on loan all season but played previously) and any youth player like Davidson, Griffiths, etc.

I'm not one of the fans who think we are in a fantastic position. We have a average team, if that, small fanbase which seems to be receding, we have a bellend of a chairman, an inexperienced manager whose signings are patchy at best but has done the best anyone could hope with a bellend upstairs. IF we can get the signing ban lifted there is no reason we cannot be a competent First Division team.

Livingston's ground is called Almondvale Stadium. It has been for at least 3, maybe 4 years. His name is, indeed correct as "The City Stadium" was only a sponsorship pre-administration.

I am fully aware you were referring to his name.

As an aside, a few weeks ago Damon Gray seemed to have made a big impact at Thistle - he was certainly fairly lethal in the league game at Firhill. I would have been seriously concerned about dealing with him tommorrow, but some Thistle fans seem to want others in the side.

Is this simply because of his short term commitment to the club, or have his performances dropped? Looked good when I saw him.

His performances have definitely dropped. Even when he was scoring goals we commented that his first touch was poor, he had little strength and he had the tendency to make the wrong run. Take away his goals, as has recently been the case, and he offers nothing to the team.
