Full Version: Is Billy Mcneill Going A Bit Doo-lally?
The Pie Shop > SPL and SFL Football > Rangers v Celtic, Celtic v Rangers
H Wragg
Billy McNeill was on the TalkSport breakfast show this morning and said that after last night's result, if Celtic win the next old firm game too, "whilst it won't be odds on that Celtic win the league it will be probable."
Unless I'm missing something in my arithmetic, it is still improbable they will win the league even if they do beat Rangers.

I think he is saying that he thinks if we win the next huns game, we will win the league due to the huns doing the necessary and slipping up.

It came as no surprise to see McGeady being quoted in todays papers as saying this.

He came away with the same pish before we played them at ibrox.

What was unsurprising that there were no "we can still do it" stories in the papers the day after they lost to us at ibrox.

As for Mcneill I would presume he was being egged on by Alan Brazil this morning as he couldn't contain his delight one little bit.

There is every chance Celtic could go 5 points clear by next Sunday but they won't win the league.

WHERE WERE ALL THESE OPTIMISTS THE DAY AFTER IBROX dry.gif

Personally I think Rangers have got the harder run-in of the two with some tricky away games to navigate, coupled with their cup campaigns. There is every chance of them dropping points between now and the end of the season.

You may well be right, but saying it is 'probable' that Celtic will win the league if the beat Rangers on 27th April is still stretching it a bit at this moment in time.
More possible - Yes.
Probable - No, IMO.

Don't see why stories like that would annoy you.

What do you expect them to say? "The season's gone now, we're really just going through the motions and picking up our wages, hopefully if we lose enough games it'll get the manager to f**k"?
Maleybhoy
its possible for that to happen, but not probable. although there may be a selected few celtic fans out there still alittle optimistic of retaining the title.

if we beat the huns next sunday, and providin we win all the rest of the game, it could be quite worrying for rangers, and aslong as we fight till the end and make the b******s sweat.

I hope to f**k it does happen, but i cant see it unfortunately.
