What's good about it? It's totally pointless, unless it's a European tie. Better than waving a Union Jack or an Irish flag though.

Being better than something totally stupid doesn't make it good. smile.gif
Down with the flags I say!
Makoliunas
Disappointed to hear this. Letting the side down.
Paddy Flannery
Why should anyone be disappointed to see a Saltire in the Rangers end? We're a Scottish side aren't we? The Union Flag is great to, but lets not do a Celtic and abandon the Saltire, even if our alternative is still an appropriate one.

So long as there's a good mix of Saltires, Union Flags, and Northern Ireland flags then I'm happy.

On a side not, did anyone notice the Red Hand flag in the Celtic end at the 2nd last Old Firm game?

Rangers play in blue and are from Scotland.

Who, Dumbarton?

I'm just generally disappointed. Letting the side down, I reckon.

Well maybe that's just me because those are my three nationalities. One side of my family from Scotland, the other Northern Ireland, and the Union Jack covers both.

My point is no-one complains about the NI and UK flags, why the Saltire?

Rangers are from Scotland too are they not? Which national side do you support?

The Saltire isn't any more relavent to Rangers than any other Scottish club, but at least its in the team colours and there's nothing wrong with having it at Ibrox.

I don't follow international football. Is that okay?

I just think that Rangers are letting the side down with these saltires. Actually, you're evidently not getting this, so I'll have to explain to you that that particular comment was actually tongue in cheek - although I don't really see how flying the Saltire's seen as "okay", but the Union Flag isn't. Both are of exactly the same relevance to the club.
Sudafed
wtf has northern ireland got to do with rangers ? the union jack personally it makes me feel a bit queasy but fair enough I can see that, but n ireland you're having a laugh.
Paddy Flannery
Saltire is OK since we are a Scottish team.

Union Flag is OK since we are also a British team.

NI flag is OK since a lot of our supporters do come over from NI to the games. If you're not from NI, then stick to the other two.

Personally I'd pick the Saltire, I just think unlike a lot of other people that other flags are OK.

Its a shame there's some who don't think the Saltire is OK.

EDIT: sorry mikoliunas I didn't see the sarcasm tags. I'm new on these forums and its a bit difficult to see when some people are being serious.

There are few, if any, fans from NI at Dumbarton games. Are you just another glory huntin' OF fan with a loose link to the Sons? Paddy Flannery was a Sons legend, btw, not an Irishman.

northern ireland has nothing to do with a scottish football team.

Yeah OK enough jokes about Dumbarton. I've been to every DFC home game this season and probably seven or eight away, and I've made it to a couple of RFC fixtures.

My point is I don't care what flags people take to Ibrox. Union Flag and Saltire are OK, if your from NI you should be allowed to take a NI flag, if you really want to. Doesn't have to have anything to do with the club itself.

If you want to have a go at someone, see the East Stirling fans. They brought an English flag to the SHS today. I'm not complaining, if they have supporters in England (unlikely) then they should be allowed to take that flag with them. Some Sons fans used to take a Finland flag to the games just for Axel Orstrumm.

What’s so unusual about that?

Oh and Celtic haven’t abandoned the saltire.
