Again I'll add all nominations.
Please only pick two.

This is hard because Alan Archibald would be a stick on if it wasn't for injuries if he'd kept up the form he's shown since christmas but I'll leave him out.
Candidates come from Elebert, McLaughlin, Palenik, McPake, and maybe Scott Wilson.
I'll choose McLaughlin and McPake. If McLaughlin had played for either St Johnstone or Dundee I think he could have helped them win the league. That's how important I think he is for Hamilton. Archibald at his best was the only one I've seen come close to him for dominance
McPake is surrounded by mediocrity but looks like a real leader and is a bit of a bear. Very strong, fast and dominating. Would have picked a fit Arch ahead of him though.

Mmm, I'd only thought of one before the poll appeared and that was Mark McLaughlin. I've always liked Neil McGregor but I don't think he's had his best season. McPake has missed too much of the season for me. If you add Palenik of Dundee, I'll go for him as well as McLaughlin.

Please indeed. He's more a liability than an effective defender!

Wilson's been alright against us. I wouldn't say there's been much to choose from for best centre-back and he is perhaps a more plausible choice than any Super J's centre-half
Meaow.

McLaughlin and McPake seems a popular choice, I picked it as well.

McLaughlin and Elebert.
McPake isn't very good - he reminds me of Sol Campbell to an extent; highly rated but actually does bugger all but stand with his arm in the air, appealing for offside every single time the opposition play a pass. Even if the player is 5 yards onside.

Why is Gary MacKenzie or Eddie Malone not up? They've had just as good a season as Palenik.

We dont have the biggest striking options but Wilson's struggled every match. The normal pre-match conversation has been how many fouls before he's booked. Between 10 & 12 is normally average.
Mind you, Bamba made him look like Rio Ferdinand!

Fair enough. I don't think I really meant to suggest him as good enough for team of the season. I was just giving a list of defenders that impressed me and stuck in Wilson as a last ditch moment of weakness.

What on the basis that he's never played centre half for us in his entire time here?

Its McLaughlin and Elebert you idiots! David Elebert is the best defender in the league and Mark McLaughlin is right behind him despite not getting out of first gear this season. He might need second gear next year tho against Colin Nish and Stuart Kean... oh well maybe not. HAFC Champions 07-08
