Just heard on Radio Scotland
Ron Burgundy
with current rises in the price of rise it seems a sensible move by the club.

First time I can recall us ever having a game postponed in the middle of April ohmy.gif take it it was a waterlogged pitch?
Ah well a mid week trip to Airdrie and a chance to nip through to Broadwood to watch Thornton Hibs in their junior cup semi.
edinbugercowden
mad.gif Must have poor drainage thats the 2nd game in a couple of weeks.

Oh goody means I have to go shopping with the missus yippee blink.gif
edinbugercowden
Does anybody have a clue when it will be replayed ? Bit hacked off as think will be struggling to make midweek game for the next couple of weeks

Rescheduled for Tuesday 15th. Annoyed games off. Apparently there's drainage problems in the area around the stadium. It would be good to know though if that's true and what the clubs doing about it.
diamonds2002
Well I'll miss the rescheduled game - today would have been my final match before the play-offs.

Strange how a modern purpose-built stadium doesn't have sufficient drainage facilities to cope with a modest downpour. And this was a ground aimed at Premier League football.
Ron Burgundy
apparently it's to do with the drainage and sewers administered by the local authority and not the actual pitch drainage.

If thats true there snothing the club can do until North Lanarkshire fix it....if they have any money left from helping Clyde stave off relegation by waiving rent so they can hire fat germans.

highlandcowden
this game should be avoided on the grounds of airdrie being rip off merchants in any case.£15 for second division football is an even bigger joke than the the prices for the recent scotland croatia game

I had already decided to stay at home for this very reason. The parking charges just add insult to injury.

The club will have to do the same as the rest of us taxpayers and await the local council making good the damage, so we should get a game around 2011 as cash is tight , I mean they could only manage 10k on this years st patrick's day celebrations for the good residents of coatbridge, however i have complete faith that the hard working people that make up NLC will have a meeting in Dublin to decide if they can spare a few quid to repair the drains in Airdrie!
diamonds2002
Technically it will be Scottish Water who responsible for the drainage and sewerage - NLC only collect the water rates for them.

I would have thought Mr Burgundy would have knwon such a trifling fact, maybe he was too excited with his Sturgeon Inflatable Doll, that he slipped up.

If you mean the scabby tesco bag I inflated and pumped you may be right.

I was a bit miffed when I had to pay £3 earlier on in the season but at least my car was still intact after the game - wouldn't have fancied parking it anywhere else down there.

That will be the area around the stadium that Airdrieonians failed to maintain and build as part of there planing consent regulation. Although I agree totally with you on the waste of money being given to the neighbours.

That 'celebration' really pissed me off.

Neanderthals mincing about with sashes claiming that they're Irish!

Without dragging up the past AGAIN my good chap I dont beleive the drains were any part of the agreed planning consent, rather the restoration of the playing fields adjacent to the stadium there was also talk of a roundabout but nothing about the mains drainage, In this respect Airdrieonians may well have " failed" to meet obligations, however when one appoints ones contractor one expects said contractor to fulfill there contractual obligation and therfor all should fall in to place.

Any idea why it's such a problem this year. My maw and paw live up the other end of Petersburn road, where Scottish Water are currently adding overflow drains after 20 years flooding during the annual monsoon season. A couple of years before that they did the same down the hill in Craigneuk.

Are they just pushing the problem further downhill each time? Should we expect Coatbridge to disappear underwater in 20 years time? Where will the shoplifters go if its does? There's nothing worth stealing in Airdrie.

I was told the blockage was caused by several thousand klan hoods being flushed down the bogs after the Gretnagate incident.

The Board have been taking legal advice from the Solitors firm Jackson, Jackson, Jackson, Jackson & Jackson Ltd and have issued a writ "blaming the boogie".

Generally contractors do what they're told what to do. If Barrso didn't, then he has to fix it. That's why you keep some money back at the end of a project. Standard business practice.

Whats the chance off the game being on the mora nite.

Match should definitely be on tomorrow, weather is nice through here.

Airdrie United v Cowdenbeath Match Preview
Ron Burgundy
gonna miss another match due to playing football myself every Tuesday.......I foresee the lowest home crowd of the season.

630.

Hope they build up some steam for these play offs...i'd be knocking lumps out of them to get them angry and fired up...

Punch them for me Kenny!

NELLY

Will be sitting in my flat keeping an eye on the score onlien tonight.

Best we can hope for right now is draw in my opinion. David Armstrong, John Armstrong, Mark Baxter, Mark Ramsay, Bryan Gilfillan and Scott Gates are all out and are all first picks for us.

Come on Cowden!
Booker_d
Wa thinking of going along to the game tonight because Im bored but just had a look online at the admission prices. £15 for the 2nd division. You having a laugh?

And Queens are 4-1 against Berwick. Which, if it stays like this, Queens would leapfrog Ayr which makes for a good game on Saturday!

See you there son! It'll be a good chance for me to assess our new signings.

....clearly you are much productive person than I am though.

Good win tonight , if a bit casual. Hope we can carry this into the play offs and I think that's 2nd spot as good as secured.

Wow your form is as bad as ours ahead of our pending playoff match, we've tried out hardest to miss out on the playoffs but everytime we lose so do the chasers.

Well i suppose one of us has to win.

Judging by reports coming out of the club, I think it may be best for Airdrie to go part time. Current crowds aren't sustainable and why should I have to pay 15 quid to watch a team that we've beaten three times this season yet their fans only pay 10 at the Glebe??? I can understand the OF charging much more into comparison to other SPL clubs, but that's because the quality of football is far better.

I doubt that a bunch of unproven youngeters and older SFL cast offs are earning quite as much as you'd think. Does anyone in the SFL have a smaller squad than Airdrie? I'd be surprised.

Without a doubt, the board will need to re-assess things, but the bleating over the admission prices is getting a bit tedious now. We have to pay them too, hence why I've been giving so many games a miss.

Good performance by Airdrie last night. Match Report is now online :-)
