Surely it's time to give the kids a run out to see what you need to play next year.........
This game means nothing so you could roll over without losing face.

3rd place would still play 2nd.
Only dropping to 4th would grant you a crack against the "1st's 9th finest" and a day out on the Riviera.

Well I hope (not for Ron's sake) that we do give chances to the likes of Malin and Moore in these last 4 games, although tonight would be a stern test for any youngster coming in. That said in my experience the hangovers didn't last as long when I was younger so maybe we should stick out the 19s.

Half time report.
Airdrie form guard of honour for County.. and Airdrie fans show their appreciation too
County started the better team with Higgins, Peterie and McCulloch all having shots from distance off target.
Airdrie scored through Noble.. Then Airdrie looked like the likelier team to score more.

Well done Airdrie, pity the playoffs are cheating them out of a promotion place or at least a direct match against seocnd bottom in division one.
Not sure we can take anything from the last few games in the season, possibly try out different tactics/formations/personnel.

To be honest thought RC were very one dimensional and quite disappointng for Championees with their sole attacking strategy being a hump up the park for Barrowman to knock down to Higgins or Petrie to Barrowman. The 2 centre backs Boyd/Dowie led with the elbow for most of the aerial challenges with Russell (or anyone) which they've obviously learned from Golabek ? (no 3) who was at it most of the time as well.
What's really frustrating is that we were by far the bettter team tonight and Grame Holmes showed what we've been missing in midfield for the last 2/3 months. Our size of squad and injuries to key players Holmes/McDougall have been very costly in my opinion
On a positive note I'm more confident about the play offs now if we were to play like we did tonight.
Good luck to RC in Div 1 - hope we can meet again next year. I know you'll strengthen but that team tonight would go straight back down.

aww...go you!
The championship is won. Why would anyone care about the rest of the games? I don't want to piss Airdrie fans off but County don't need to do anything more, their work is done. Making judgements on tonights game is stupid. From a Ross County point of view it was meaningless. Well done Airdrie on their win and I hope you make it up, but as long as you or Raith come up with us I know we are guaranteed at least ninth next season.

"Offside Goal"

quality , your spy must have those eyes that can see round corners seeing as they would have been sitting at least 40 yards away, Whether it mattered or not is neither here nor there we were up for it and cut county open time and again on the flanks, I beleive Stuart Noble released the right back from his pocket a little after 11pm last night.
see you next year

Defence were sleeping for the second goal (as they were for much of the game to be honest), didn't look off-side at all - in fact it was only when heading home in the car and heard Sandy Clark mention that he thought it was off-side. Airdrie played well and deserved their win - if they can continue like that they'll romp the play-offs. Some strange inconsistency from the ref - but that shouldn't really surprise at this level. Brady was way off the pace, and his two powder puff shots in the second half were just comical. Another moment of comedy was the linesman in front of us, it's been a while since I've seen someone run like that.

You cant judge us on wether that team will go straight back down next season 4 days after we won the League! That team was probably on the piss saturday and sunday have a word with yourself mate,
Like us fans the players are probably desperate for the season to end, i dont care if we loose all our games now the season finished on saturday for me, the next 3 games feel like pre-season freindlies

That must be his first game in a good couple of months?? at least his shots were somewhere near the goal, seem to remember Higgins putting one over the stand and Mcculloch near hitting the corner flag. There were a number of poor performers there tonight, but you cant really blame them seasons over and nothing to play for. The team that wanted it won it, and played some good stuff while they did it, good luck to Airdrie in the playoffs.

Yes, I do realise that and to be honest I expected him to be more up for it precisely because of that fact. Still the work had already been done and I did expect this outcome from last night. I suspect they'll be slightly sharper on Saturday though.
