Moving into new territory here with a pre-match thread. Clach, for once, should be favourites in this game due to the appalling statistics of Fort who have a goal difference of minus 75 after just 17 games. That kind of figures remind me of my amateur football days and the very worst Clach and Nairn teams of the late 80s/early 90s.

I went to the same fixture midweek at the tail end of last season expecting an easy Clach win, think Fort had 2 wins and 19 defeats on the board at that point.

Full time score was Clach 0 Fort William 3 huh.gif ohmy.gif

Consistency isn't a strong point for Clach so it could well turn out the same way even though Fort have somehow managed less wins this season than last.
McCaig's Tower
I think Fort William lost 9 last time out so I wouldn't be too optimistic on their behalf...

I was up at Claggan Park on Sunday - a beautiful setting, but what's the script with the team? I know shinty takes a lot of the good ball players from Lochaber, but presumably that has always been the case? Is there some sort of negative correllation between how well Kilmallie/Fort William/Lochaber Camanachd are doing and the fortunes of the football team?

was at the fort game last night,i cant see a repeat of last seasons shock, they are apparantly struggling to put 11 men on the park. They lost 4-0 and made nairn look good,no mean feat. They tried to be stuffy and their keeper played reasonably well but, like ally mcbeal, they didnt have too much going on upfront.

Fort had five trialists involved last night, just to make the first eleven.

Dear oh dear. I might make the bench yet.

Game is off sad.gif as is Keith v Rothes. Ross county game is off too meaning no game for me today.
Reina
I'm heading to PRP today to watch Vale v Nairn. smile.gif Looking forward to it.
FilthyMack
I just remembered this was supposed to be on so I checked BBC and there was no sign it was off, so then checked here.

Ah well, no fitba today for me either.
Reina
Vale v Nairn was a fairly dull affair to be honest - there was never 4 goals between the two sides. Vale definitely deserved the win, but I think 4-0 was harsh on Nairn.

4-0 did flatter us but we fully deserved the three points. Was a dull first half thought we missed Mike Mckenzie. Nairn did come close hitting the cross bar with a free kick in the first half that was the only time they came close in the first half. Second half was alot better with the wind blowing towards the Bridge street end we were always going to score. Some cracking goals once we went up 1-0, the 2nd goal was some strike from Gary Clark and Dougals goal was well taken. Thought we played alot better against Huntly but to win 4-0 and play below par can't really complain about that and with Locos losing to Wick it looks like its going to be a four horse race just a pity Lossie never took a point of a Cove.

Aye, true. I thought Chis had an absolute 'mare today. You could see he was really frustrated with himself. By the way, the penalty was the softest penalty decision I've seen in a long time! Will take it though. smile.gif

I've yet to meet you did you spot us behind the goals today. You have to come up to me and say hello. I thought the pen was soft but the lads round me thought it was a pen i was standing right infront of the incident. Chiz did have a stinker Coutts did not have the best of games either.

Renia whats with all the quotes and you say i post nothing but total utter shit laugh.gif

According to the HL Website, tomorrow's rearranged ties are in doubt due to the pishing-it-down nature of the weather. Damn you clouds!

Lossie played Fort on Saturday and just about got away with it. Clach might dodge a bullet here.

Bullet successfully dodged, game is off again.

And rearranged for next Tuesday the 15th.

Edited to add this successfully avoids clashing with Inverness's most popular fixture, the Old Firm game, which is on Wednesday

5-0 to Clach, Fort were as bad as one would expect. Nice cup of bovril was had.
Waspie
Popped over to Grant Street for this game and quite enjoyed it, really open football throughout. Was surprised by just how young both sides were, but for a couple of exceptions it looked like an under 21 match and there were a few really young lads in the Fort side. Clach cruised it throughout with the number 9 'Robbie' looking decent (moaning b@stard though, claiming a penalty after falling over the ball in the box laugh.gif ) and the always impressive Blair Lawrie also standing out. The ref made a couple of horrific calls against Lawrie, first deciding a Fort defender had won the ball when he had clearly taken out the Clach man, then near the end somehow awarding the Fort a free kick when Lawrie had been tripped huh.gif . Lawrie was maybe a bit lucky right after that because he kicked out at a Fort player and the ref saw it and didnt do anything. Maybe he just felt guilty for his crap decisions against Lawrie.

Robbie Duncanson, he was picked for the HL Select recently. I think the ref had seen how bad and young Fort were and decided to give them some sympathy decisions.

The Grant Street Park pitch was in fantastic condition.

What was the attendance?

100 or so. To be fair i think those that attended would have turned up even if the game was going up against the Old firm match. There'll be a larger crowd on Saturday against Keith.

Noted that myself, the best Ive seen it and puts a few surfaces in the SFL to shame. How would I go about joining the new Clach supporters trust?
