Accies have led the league all season, with Dundee hot on our heels. One of these two teams will win the league. I think it will be Accies.

The next three or four games will decide it I think. If Hamilton and Dundee's patchy form continues and St Johnstone continue to pick up points it could become even tighter. I'm worried for Hamilton at the moment more than anything - I've only seen them once (when we horsed them at McD) and they were pish. I appreciate they have ground out results though, but they seem to be struggling now.
Dundee v St Johnstone at the start of March could be a massive game.

I'm beginning to think St Johnstone have a chance. Dundee are hopeless and Hamilton are struggling to score goals at the moment and with St Johnstone picking up results regularly, I think they can work their way back into the race.

Dundee will win this league. The Hamilton collapse I have been talking about with mates all season has begun. They will finish 3rd.
Though i really hope Saints win, I don't think we can maintain the decent form that has put us back in with a chance.

If we strengthen in the areas where we really need to, we'll win the league. If we fail to strengthen, I can see Saints nicking it.

I personnally think it depends on the Lyle situation, if Hamilton can get him now in January then i think they will start scoring and win it but if dundee keep him till the summer they will finish the stronger and win the league! both teams though can be patchy and how many games have dundee and hamilton scraped by the odd mcDonald, McCarthy goal? if they slip up and we continue our run you never no! But I think it will go down to the wire weather that be a two horse race (PROBALLY) or a three horse race!

We've won 8 out of 22 so far.
We'd need to do something like 11 out of the final 14 to stand a chance, so not us.

It will end up the same as last season - turn two of those huge amount of draws in to wins and we are right back in it. Something we should have done anyway.

You could say something similar about Thistle, too. We drew six games and should really have won five. If we had taken all three points, we'd have 38 points to St Johnstone's 34 (feel free to count up the number of points you'd have if you'd won your draws), Dundee's 42, and Hamilton's 45.
Ah well, there's always next season.

Er ... one.
McCarthy's scored three league goals, one in our 4-0 win over Stirling, one in our 5-0 win over Dunfermline, and the only goal of our 1-0 win over Morton.
So much for that theory.
The rest of this thread is a predictable as every previous discussion of Accies' title-winning chances. Long may you all write us off! And long may we stay top of the league.

McCarthy scored after a couple of mins against us at palmerston too did he not, when we went onto win 2-1 thanks to 2 comical OG'S?

Once Hamilton work out how to play their talent rich (by first division standards) squad, the results will start to come their way. I reckon we'll score a few on Tuesday and carry it on against Clyde.
The result on Saturday is the final kick up the arse we need!

"Mainly Dundee"? Now you're backpedalling.
The truth is your theory doesn't fit Accies.
We've won a grand total of four league games by one goal to nil. And we haven't won a single game by virtue of a late goal (the closest would be our home win over Dundee, when we scored our first with eight minutes to go, then our second in stoppage time - final score 2-0).
On the contrary, we've conceded late goals, and failed to convert draws to wins. If we'd been doing the kind of things Dundee have been doing, we'd be out of sight by now.

I should probably know better than to write us off but I still can't see it.
We were rubbish until Deuchar and Quinn arrived and by that time Accies and Dundee were eleven and nine points ahead of us respectively. So despite being better since then, we've made up a grand total of one point on both teams.
I guess that shows we've been as good as them since we got Deuchar and Quinn in but being "as good" as them isn't enough and even though they are stumbling, I can't see them becoming as bad as us (four points in five games) or us putting together the sort of run to overhaul them.
The total required to win the league might be slightly less than anticipated a month ago but I'd still think the champions will end up with a total around the 70 point mark. I said at the start of December (after the 2-2 draw with Thistle) we could drop another 12 points and on that basis, we can drop another 3 points but that's maybe adjusted slightly and if we collect 35 points from the 42 available, we might have a chance. That's not going to happen though.
Anyway, I don't think it's possible to answer the question and be sure about it. Even the close of the window might not signal too much as the emergency loan option is still available. As things stand, I'd side towards Accies as they have more matchwinners than Dundee IMO.

One more time ...
1. Temporary stand (facing the main stand) is currently under construction and will be complete by 31 March, taking us over the 6,000 minimum covered seating capacity by the deadline.
2. Plans underway for a permanent stand at the Sainsbury end.
3. Contingency plan to lift the artificial surface should the SPL insist.
