I would like to see someone like Cuthbert at Firhill, but I don't think McCall will do much in the 'keeping department till at least the end of the season.
Fife Saint
I wouldn't be surprised at Cuthbert.

Is Bradley not honking?

I am sure I have seen him in a keepup comp in Magaluf, he won like. Doesnt make him good.
CK
Are Queens trying to create a team of ex-Clyde players? huh.gif
Sao Paulo
Bradley's a strange one, don't know what to make of that.

Don't want him out, like explicitly, but I wouldn't give too much of a hoot if he did leave.

Decent player, best as a wingback. High level of stamina makes him ideal.
FC_1919
I would take that Higgins off Clyde, he is out of contract I see. Would be a great signing I think, to ease the pressure on our ageing defence.

We've got a Slovenian goalie on trial atm.

yes i'm aware of this. this could amount to something but i don't know if this slovenian is one for the future like pedram or one to challenge Hinchy and Tuffey immediately. has anyone heard anything of the progress of his trial?
Palmerston_1919
why on earth would we sign Cuthbert when we have Grindlay on the bench? He wouldnt sign unless he was promised first team football. As much as Jamie mc has struggled at times this season id be surprised if we drop him for Cuthbert. Extremely surprised if this is true.
supersaint44
if you do get Cuthbert that would be a great signing for yous i really dont want him to leave. i mean Main isnt very good, in his prime yes but now at 41 he is far past it and realy only has the rest of the season as number one and kevin should really stay as he is perth homegrown talent and would be the long term number 1. i would have him in goal rather than main but mcInnes disagrees I really hope he stays. but i thot Daal was on his way to QotS? cud he be one of the signings?

We have two at present, three if you include Jim Thomson.

Expect your players to move on if you can't afford to offer them deals, or do so on the hope that you will get a lucrative Cup tie shown on tv!

According to various newspapers though we've attempted at various times this season to sign Arbuckle, McKeown and Imrie too.

And don't forget Masterton as well and Hutton who you offered a deal to

eh 4 if you count McCann

eh 5 if you count Snowy Morrison

Cuthbert is in need of a fresh challenge and just last night I heard the same story about him being wanted by Queens.

With Main under contract next season, I think McInnes will be looking for a 'keeper to really challenge him for a place and that won't be Cuthbert I suspect. There's no chance he'll be allowed to leave this window though and I'd suggest Queens don't need him this window when they have McDonald on loan until the summer.

I haven't seen either of those quoted anywhere. Nor have I heard anything privately about those two. Not doubting you, just saying it's news at this end.

I would agree with that & the chances of McDonald coming on loan for a third time have to be slim. So fixing up a keeper for next season might be high on the agenda.

Thats a fair point. Although, McDonald has said he may be interested in staying, hasnt he? And where is Grindlay, he seems to have had 'the flu' for two months now huh.gif Lining up another keeper for next season would seem very sensible to me.

Bradley is left sided, isnt he? Its an area we need to cover and he's a decent enough player.

I'm pretty sure that MacDonald wouldn't be allowed to stay another season on loan. I haven't heard him say that anyway. Not saying he hasn't, just that it passed me by if he did. I think if he wanted to stay it would have to be on a permanent contract.

Grindlay was on the bench on Saturday v Linlithgow. He had flu for one game, the home one with Livingston just before Xmas. Since then he's had an ankle injury.

I meant McDonald staying permanently, rather than on loan.

I must have missed the bit about Grindlay picking up a knock, or rather forgotten it!

He was named on Saturday, but was he fit? He certainly wasnt out with the other subs at half time.

laugh.gif He's the worst of our established back 3 of Higgins, McKeown, McGregor. His passing out of defense is murder, he most often balloons it up the field. Decent defeneder though but goes to pieces abit without McKeown to marshall the defense.

Agree with what your saying about him being a good signing for Queens if they do get him and i like Cuthburt better than Main, though main has'nt dun anything wrong for a few weeks.

However i don't think we could have any arguement with Kevin if he chose to move, what your saying about him being the long-term no1 simply isn't true. The guy is the longest serving player at McDiarmid at the minute and is only 25 years old. Everytime it has looked like he may be made No1 weve signed a new keeper and hes been back on the bench. Thinkin of Halliwell, Glennon, MacGregor, Sampson and now Main. There is nothing to say we wont sign someone at the end of this season who will be number 1 next season and Kevin has to sit on the bench for another extended while. Good luck to him if he does move. i'l never forget his double save in the 0-0 vs St Mirren at love street.

MacDonald has a further year on his deal at Hearts so he wouldn't be coming here permanently unless Hearts were willing to release him and, presumably, unless he was willing to take a salary cut (although I don't know what Hearts pay him, I'm just presuming it's more than we could).

I think Saturday was a week too early ideally for Grindlay from what I gathered. He could have played if needs be but I don't think he'd done much if any training and I'm not sure how mobile he'd have been. However, you can't play a trialist in the cup and whilst we could simply have put Stevie Morrison on a playing contract he's no keeper anyway so why bother? So far as I know Grindlay will now be fully available again.

I would expect us to be looking at keepers since MacDonald presumably will not return next year. Grindlay only signed a one year deal which hasn't really worked out for him so far but I would like to see a bit more of him in the first team at this level. I'm not in the camp that thinks MacDonald should be dropped now but I do think if in a month or two we've moved into a clearly safe position I'd like to see Grindlay get some first team action to see if he is worth offering a deal for next year.

Bradley will be Harris's suggestion - they're very good pals AFAIK

Would rather keep him, but won't cry if he leaves.

PC, you have Ryan McCann, Jim Thomson, Robert Harris, Brian Gilmour and Neil McFarlane - all have played for Clyde.

But played in goals for Clydebank

............in an emergency when Colin Scott (he of the perennial injuries) got injured after the transfer deadline day back in the days when those still existed and Clydebank, who were a bankrupt club at the time didn't have another keeper.

He wasn't a goalkeeper to trade. One of those outfielders who fancies he can play the position a bit if needs be though. As Jon Crawford did previously with us.

I thought Morrison was a striker incidentally? I have old books that list him a striker in his Dunfermline and Aberdeen days.

Started as a striker and worked his way back. Was brilliant as sweeper for us. Class player.
