Jim Sherry as far as I know is retired and the David McFarlane at Dumbarton IS the same one who was at Accies, arrived at Dumbarton via Larkhall Thistle and others after leaving Accies.

His luge tackles were superb and made him my favourite player at the time.

Recieved an awful tackle whilst livingston captain playing against east fife. Was never the same player after he broke his leg, think it was then he moved to hamilton.

He was with us before he was at Livvy, when he moved from you to us that was his 2nd spell at Accies (I think)

Jim Sherry works in the beer pumps business now. I believe his father in law (Mr.Mortimer) owns the Hamilton Palace.

Don't quote me on that though.

Aye he does indeed own the Palace. Used to own many different clubs but i believe he sold a couple of them off a few years ago.

If his father is Jim Mortimer then he also owns the Furry Murray's chains, One Up in glasgow and Karbon.

For the older people tongue.gif he used to run Victoria's.

Jim Sherry must surely have the greatest ever last kick in professional football ... that being Willie McLaren's neck ! Airdrie-Accies crunch promotion decider, second last game of the season, and Jim Sherry halfs McLaren with a wonderful throat high challenge ! Straight red card, suspended for the rest of the season, and he retired that summer. Legend.

One of the most committed players I've ever seen playing for Accies. Will always be one of my favourites.
EKACCIES
There are some Accies fans to this day still think McLaren dived.
