1) this is about Offiong joining Dundee.
2) just because the rumour you started is gathering pace doesn't mean it's got any chance of coming true wink.gif
3) Offiong is going nowhere.

happy to help. wink.gif
Trevor
Also unlike Lyle, Offiong is actually contracted up at Accies until the end of next season so any cheap and easy transfer to any club is out the window. In saying that there are a growing number of Accies fans who wouldn't be too gutted to see Offiong sold, assuming we get a decent price for him.

blink.gif blink.gif you can't be serious???

we'll have him if you don't want him any more as would the vast majority of the teams in Scotland tongue.gif
Trevor
Not me personally but he does take a fair whack of criticism on the Accies fans forum for being lazy and looking disinterested.

I started a rumour last year about an ex brazilian international joining st mirren, and it ended up being quoted on tv by an australian manager, it didnt make it true though smile.gif
Mr Roberts
I wish we had a top-scoring striker who looks as lazy and disinterested as him.
Happy_Gilmore
You lot have lost me! I'm not the one "making up" rumours! I have taken the rumour from another board and posted it here. It was posted over a week ago by another arab.

Nothing to do with Dundee FC.

looks like you must be on the wrong thread then.

oh, and by the way if Hamilton can laugh off serious money for Offiong from St Mirren a few weeks ago, what make you think you've got a chance?

It's not a hard concept to grasp, the thread is about Offiong moving to Dundee. I have merely stated that there is a rumour regarding him going to Dundee UNITED and not Dundee. Said rumour was tkane from a Dundee United fan board a week ago so I thought I'd share.

We have a chance because we have more money than St Mirren and players to bargain with!

If the rumour is to be true you understand, Levein has been casting his net down south recently.

He was always interested in Dundee. You're such a huge team, people in Mongolia are even intrigued.

Well having watched Accies in their last 4 games (because the Juniors have been frozen or washed out) and therefore speaking as a neutral, Offiong is the forward version of Bobo Balde.
If you want a battering ram who can run at 100mph then he is your man, otherwise his first touch is abysmal at times.
Accies should take the money and run all the way to the bank if they get the chance

How much would Accies want in terms of a transfer fee?

I would imagine it would have to be over £200,000 before we would part with him at this stage.

Even then I doubt we would sell as his value won't go down between now and then.

I originally thought this but after the last two games, Offiong certainly makes a big differance, Twigg just doesn't look like a player who can play up top on his own.
Accie1
As Mister Roberts correctly stated, it happens occasionally, we knocked back an offer from St Mirren recently and the only other real interest is from 2 unnamed teams south of the border. rolleyes.gif

"Serious money from St Mirren", hehe, what constitutes serious money when two giants of the Scottish game like Hamilton Accies and St Mirren are involved?

Agreed. Teams should be setting their sites on has been internationalists and spending money like there's no tomorrow!!!

Economic sense always prevails in Dundee!
TheGeorgian
So how much "serious money" did they offer for Offiong then? Or is it a big secret?

Your right tho, Dundee could learn a thing or two from a team like Hamilton on the financial side of things. Hamilton must be rolling in it if they can afford to turn down a "serious money" bid from St Mirren. One of football's success stories, Hamilton Accies, other teams should take note. Seriously.
Darkblueyonder
Nae chance

wouldn't want him at Dens he's mince

would much rather have Dorrans or McMenamin

might be half interested if Lyle would be involved in a swap
Trevor
Why would we swap for a player who's already ours?

To salvage this thread, I wonder if there is some truth in the Offiong to United rumour? Watching United tonight, they played a system that would very much suit Offiong and on the evidence of that showing from the Arabs, Offiong would easily step into their side ahead of Robertson.
Szamo's_Ammo
Is Offiong's contract up at the end of the season?

I've heard we've had a bid rejected.
