I would love to see a proper, updated X-Wing vs TIE Fighter style game for the 360 with full online multiplayer versus and co-op modes.

I'd also love for a games company to start producing graphic adventure style games again.

Some may remember a PS game called Libero Grande, it was a football game but you only controlled one character and controlled his career. It was shite, but I reckon that style of game, if done properly, would be a topper.

I'm sure I'll think of others as well, what do you reckon?
Ric
It's not been done properly yet, although lots of people have tried it, but a mix between quake and elite, where you are both an intergalactic trader and a soldier intent on killing everyone in the base you just landed in. Or you could sit down with the Trilurium ambassador and have a nice cup of tea while discussing the values of alien artefacts in Lechee. Your choice.

Obviously this would need to be played online, and you could only save the game by landing at a suitable space station whether it be in space (a la Elite) or a mix of land and space (a la Frontier). The interesting thing would be to actually just leave people to it. If you balance the resources and the skill levels (and cut down on the cheating) you could technically create a microcosm of life that would genuinely be a real virtual world, unlike that of the superficial Second Life, which would run itself.

One that is far more obvious would be a mix of Football Manager and Pro Evo. Fifa tries it, but it's shit on both sides. PES has rotten management features and FM, well it's superb except you don't play the damned thing.
Mon The Clyde
Grand Theft Auto Fife.

Wine bottle as the first weapon, followed by the brick.

Classic.

Did you ever see the Coke advert that Coca-Cola buried because it was like GTA? Quite funny, and a real shame that they didn't have the balls to run with it. Instead the pussied out and we ended up with that one that has all the ice "fairies" (?) that deliver the coke bottle from the machine.

GTA Lego

I like that... smile.gif

Is it a direct remake of the Vice City opening "credits"? The music is definitely from VC.

was an original idea, but wouldnt work because you end up spending large amounts of the game without the ball which is really only for the hardcore football game fans (if there are any unsure.gif )

You've basically described my dream game. I would love to play something like that, with so much freedom, even more than the elite series. I think there should be an option to sign up for the military, whether as a fighter pilot, courier, scout, officer etc. and then fight campaigns.

Space stations should be improved so that you can leave your station and explore the planet, and just have all the sort of things you mentioned!

In other words, what Ive actually been waiting for since about 1998 is Elite 4....I still stick a bit of FFE on occasionally and give it a bash, are (were) you a Frontier Elite fan?
Mackie The Staggie
A proper style Racing game, none off this Gan Turismo pish.

I play a couple of Sim-Racing games (Live For Speed/NASCAR 2003/rFactor) and all are currently as close as you can get to racing as can be at the moment. They all have a deep on-line community and organise leagues and competitions with some of the top ones offering prizes.

I would really like to see this thinking implied to the consle market, whaether or not it will take, I doubt it. And yes I know Froza is there, but not at the same level.

Couple of links for you guys.

Live For Speed - Downloadable free Demo (unlimited) with 1 track, 1 road/1rallyX and same reversed, also 3 diffrent cars to race, one front wheel drive, one rear wheel car and a single seater. Plus ability to play online.

rFactor - Downladable Demo (Limit 1 hour) with a couple of cars/tracks, not too sure about online play

Sim Racing Tonight - general hint about how deep the sim racing world is, sadly most of this footage is Americian based, but there is a strong British/European group.

In FIFA '08 some of the challenge mode has you only controlling one player throughout the game. I think it works very well.

Unfortunately I don't. I have just bought FIFA 06 from CEX though to boost my Gamerscore (I'm such a whore laugh.gif) for £3 though!

Jeez louise - you are in for one of the most frustrating experiences of your life, 06 challenges are easy until you get to the last one or 2, then they are impossible.

If you want to boost gamerscore, get Ninja Turtles, Cars, Fight Night, Avatar (1000 points in 2 minutes), NBA06 (1000 points, 1 game).

Nothing, just fun, although you get rewarded sometime this year with free games etc for getting to certain points.

FIFA 08, with all SPL grounds in the game, would be excellent. biggrin.gif

PGR4, except the same as PGR2 for the original Xbox would be good too. I've never been so disappointed.

laugh.gif Could have a few special editions, as one for Falkirk and the surrounding areas would be quite amusing. The Buckie bottle would be replaceable with eg an MD bottle, obtained by battering neds outside a local chippy, for added realism.

The next instalment of FIFA on the 360 to have all the SFL teams in it, like they have with all the lower league English clubs.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that Mass Effect was originally supposed to be KOTOR3, but then they decided to make it a standalone setting so they could develop their own franchise.

A 3D third person remake of Skool Dayz and Back to Skool.

Edit- But not over complicating it.

Oh also......

There was an old Amiga game called 'It Came from the Desert'.
Frighteningly ahead of its time. GTA meets interactive detective game.
Fucking brilliant. Id love to see that redone for PC.

In fact I might just start an online petition, as we all know they really DO make a difference wink.gif tongue.gif

The thing about that format is you could just create it then let people populate it. As it develops a "society" would be built with it. If designed correctly all the hard work would be done by those playing the game as everybody has their own personality and motivations. From farming to mining to trading to banking to fighting, everything really.

Sadly we all have been waiting, and it won't come out. I had the chance to speak indirectly with David Braben who has put on hold any suggestion of it and is happy to take 3 months to build some shitty Rollercoaster Park addon for the Playstation than spend 3 or 4 years in solid development. I don't think Frontier (the company not the game) has the money to bankroll a project that size.

Have you played "Bully"? Or "Canis Canem Edit" as it was called over here.

Wiki

It's pretty much what you're looking for. It's also excellent, and is due for an enhanced re-release on the Xbox 360 this year smile.gif

Thats a shame! Do you remember the individual person screenshots they had in edge magazine a few years back (dont know if that magazine is still going or not), that showed you walking about sans spaceship. That got shelved, but I heard (probably from Wiki) that they were talking about developing it in the near future, and that some of the games they were working on at the moment (The Outsider?) were going to form the basis.

Gutted if he's put it on hold though. sad.gif THeres no other space game quite like it. FE2 got me into classical music with its lush Amiga soundscheme, and it was just better in every way.

Do you think it will ever be developed?
