Tottenham Hotspur are the ONLY non-League side ever to win the FA Cup. They were in the Southern League at the time I believe.

Didn't West Ham win it during the early 1980s (1980 or 1981?) the year they were also promoted.

Here's one. Before Millwall in 2004, who were the last non top-flight team to appear in the FA Cup final?

Sunderland, when they played Liverpool in the early 90's. Warren Hawke was on the bench for them.

You lost on two counts! Wimbledon were in the top flight when they won it in 1988

That's only one count. Where's the second?
If they hadn't been in the top flight he'd have won the bet.

There was a year back around the second world war when two legged semi finals were played I think. Was it Charlton? That rings a bell.

Very close. Charlton were runners up having also lost a match when ties up to and including the quarter-finals were played over two legs. Apparently to make up for the absence of a national league competititon that same year.
I'll leave you to figure out who won.
