are you trying to say Jay shields, Adam Coakley, Kieran Mcanespie and Michael Gardyne arent talented?

Shouldn't be anywhere near a professional team in Scotland. Considered by some to be the worst player to wear the Thistle shirt in recent years!
He was so bad it was actually funny, got better near the end but that was because he couldn't get any worse!

I don't get why Morton keep going for so much average rubbish. You had a decent base of a squad when you came into the division, but haven't strengthened at all
Sell Templeman back to Brechin for 100k, then get in a few decent players

Barry has been a cracking player for us throughout the years. Consistently Mr Reliable and just seemed to always be there.
There won't be many Dundee fans who wouldn't agree that he is a true gent. Loyalty was second to none and is a dying breed in this game (in saying that, Kev McD maybe learned a few things from him!)
Unfortunately, towards the end at Dundee, I feel he offered little on the park in the way of football, still influential though. I think fitness and age started to catch up on him.
Having not seen him in action recently, I couldn't comment on how he will be for you guys but i'd be surprised if he made it at this level at this stage in his career. Possible good coaching abilities though and could probably be depended on as a squad player.

5 words. Jim Mcinally and Douglas Rae. between them they have all the adequecy of socks at a flip flop convention.
we'd sell templeman then spend the 100k to bring in chic charnley or something.

Barry had a torrid start to his spell with us last season, however it should be remembered he was playing in a side bereft of confidence and in free fall at the time. When moved into centre midfield, he actually looked more comfortable as his lack of pace was not exposed in the way it was when Dick played him at full back.
Ended up one of our better players toward the end of the season, so perhaps he could do a job for Ton.
Fitness and lack of pace would be a worry depending upon where he is likely to be played.

I said this when you signed Kieran, he is a good player but seems to be need decent man management to deliver. Everybody knows the guy has talent and last season showed that when playing under a manager who can motivate him and get him in the right position that he is still an excellent player. This obviously hasnt been the case at Morton (hasnt he been playing some games at left back? Everyone knows he is pish there) but its not down to a lack of talent. You have to ask as well why Gardyne was a stand out for Ross County in Division 1 last year and was crap for Morton.

its not really that hard a question as to why both have been horrible, infact its the easiest question i will ever answer in my life. Jim Mcinally!
those two are two players with at least some talent when playing behind the strikers. neither of them played there at all.

Barry is a Dundee legend. I think he could still play at centre-half at this level as he reads the game so well and never loses a tackle. However, if you play him at full-back or midfield I reckon he'll be found wanting. Brilliant holding midfielder in his day.

He's not the fastest, he's not the biggest, and he's not going to stun you with his flair, but (through dark blue specs, I'll admit) he usually seemed to be in the right place at the right time. He's an organiser, and he plays heads-up football. Depending on how his fitness is.
And I saw his equaliser for Thistle against Airdrie, it was a great shot, and I don't remember Partick Thistle having too many scoring chances that day (I was there as an anti-Airdrie supporter).
Absolutely hopeless and he'll only get worse.

no offence to him but he was like a dithering elephant in what i saw of him. he was extremely unfit and no amount of trying could make up for that as it seemed your average 13-15 year old would comfortably jog and be faster than him running at the time.

Some of the Thistle fans have been a bit unfair on him, imo. I don't think it was a case that he was unfit, more to do with the fact he'd just finished playing a full season in Iceland and was fucked. He certainly wasn't anywhere near our worst player last season. Also, having a manager who played him out of position didn't help.
I don't think weight / size is always the best indicator when considering fitness (think of Boab and Hinchy), but, for what it's worth, I was talking to him at the Clyde game and he looked trim.

O FFS he signs a defender after a 6-1 horsing by Livingston, when he should have prepared for ineptitude in advance.
Give the man a fucking gold star or something.
Its the manager's job to strengthen, and he's only doing it now because he knows fine well his job's on the line based on three weeks of negotiations and panic buys.
