Did Adam Strachan play? If so did he make any impact?
Yes and Yes.
He had some great touches and some good crossing from the left, but then the whole team played superb today, with the front players especially playing good and linking well together. He had the chance to make it 6-1 but he had a poor touch and the ball went out for a goal kick.
As for the game itself, It looked to be another of those days when Peterhead went in front, we had been creating some good stuff up until that point but failing with the final ball, then Blobby Mann (who looks like he ate well over Christmas) rose to head in the free kick.
But County responded well, and equalised within 10 minutes, Alex Keddie at the near post heading in Sean Higgins' corner.
County took the lead just before half time, again a headed goal from almost the same spot, this time Andy Barrowman heading it over the keeper an in at the far side.
Barrowman made it 3-1 just after half time, a low shot past the keeper, then it was 2 goals in as many minutes. firstly Dene Shields with a low shot from the right side of the field, then Daniel Moore scored with his first touch of the ball after only being on the field around 30 seconds (the sub being made after Shields had scored)
Barrowman though he had scored his hat-trick on the 90th minute but it was ruled out for offside. Craig Gunn also had a late effort cleared off the line after Kula fumbled a cross stright onto Gunn's feet.
The only sour point of the game was Andy Dowie being injured. He slide in to with (Rory MacAllistair I think) and the two collided with the advertising hoarding. I could hear the contact his face made with the board at the other end of the ground. Dowie was knocked out at the time and the players immediately called for help. Dowie got back to his feet and walked down the tunnel before going by ambulance to hospital. He broke his nose, had concussion, his neck is sore and was put in a brace, and he also seems to have injured his wrist - but to what extent I'm not sure.
