I was not aware of any Racist shouts yesterday. Any previous episodes were shouted down very quicky by the support anyway. So to say that it is FACT just because a footballer told you is very poor. It seems to me quinny that you are so far up some of these players arses that you are stuck. This one said, that one texted me - so you know a few footie players- so what.
Maybe something was shouted at him, I didn't hear it so we'll never know, his behaviour was still in poor taste at that time. Had the shoe been on the other foot I'm sure you would have been unhappy. I remember when Carcary was stretchered off at Starks, no one was laughing or joking then - it is never a nice thing to see ANY player taken off on a stretcher regardless of who they play for.
QUOTE (unthinkable @ Dec 16 2007, 18:39)

As I said in my previous post his tackling is reckless but he never sets out to hurt the opposition. What frustrates me most about him is the number of cards he picks up for dissent and petulance towards the ref, that's where his attitude lets him down.
Yesterday's tackle was like the one at Airdrie on the opening day of the season a 50/50 challenge where the other player came off worse, he went for the ball both times so to call him an animal is a bit strong.
Yup, he does have a disciplinary problem but he's not an "animal".

If Marv has indeed laughed at Stevenson being stretchered off then seriously, shame on him. I wasn't there so I can't comment on anything but players getting injured just isn't funny. There may however be an entirely innocent explanation for the alleged incident, although laughing at that particular time whilist Stevenson was being treated would be tactless or careless, though perhaps not directly insulting towards Stevenson. Hopefully Stevenson makes a speedy recovery.
That aside, great result for us.

Do you really think for one minute i would post that if it wasnt true but obviously you wont believe it and anyway can you hear everything that is shouted from all ayr fans all of the time NO DIDNT THINK SO.I hope the lad who was injured has a speedy recovery as he is a cracking player and we applauded as he was carried off but to accuse marv of laughing at him is out of order. The player text me because he had read the shite posted on here and was putting over their side of the story. If you knew marv you would know he laughs all the time and would have known the player was being looked after otherwise he wouldnt do that.

I want to ask the genuine ayr fans if they are gonna condemn the RACISTS among their support because i heard from 2 raith players[marv and davo]about what was said during the game. This was before they had been told about the accusations against marv so in no way is this retaliation.According to marv ayr fans were calling him all sorts of names throughout the game including talking about BANANAS etc etc.He also said it was one of the nastiest games for terracing abuse he has encountered. As for laughter according to what davo said they were laughing at ayr fans threats to STAB MARV and that they wouldnt get out of ayr ALIVE.WTF is wrong with these people and this is no lies this is FACT.

Not having a pop but you do seem to have changed the story slightly there?
It's possible for one or two idiots to have been mouthing off wihtout other people in the stadium necessarily being aware of it, and I've no doubt all the Ayr fans on here would condemn any such thing if they thought it had happened - just as we would all condemn Marvin if we thought he really had been laughing at an injured player. Since, in both cases, none of us seem to be willing to take the other side's word for it that such things occurred the discussion doesn't seem to be getting us very far.
Not quite sure where I was going with that paragraph now.
I'll settle for wishing everyone Merry Christmas, and a better New Year for Ayr in particular.
QUOTE (Whistle Blower @ Dec 16 2007, 15:35)

I think you right there mate.
All this Marvin pish doesn't hide the fact Ayr are shockingly poor.
It was simply a case of turning up yesterday and getting our 3 points and going home (in the last 30 years that has never been the case for a succession of Raith teams), infact if we didn't switch off in the 53rd minute we could have easily hit 5.
I take it the booze is freely flowing in the sponsors lounge Murray Henderson Ayr's MOM, there was only one guy who lookked like a footballer in white yesterday and that was Stevenson.
And going back to the Marvin incident perhaps he took his cue from me me laughing at Martyn Campbell lasting 10 minutes.

A reckon there`s too many Ayr fans trying to use Marvins alleged chortle at an injured player to detract from the horsing they got.
FFS,theres many a player goes down like they`ve been shot and medical staff running on only for the player to get up 5 minutes later and run about like a feking hare, happens every week.Obviously this wasn`t the case but cause many an Ayr fan has a chip on their shoulder regarding a previous incident regarding MA they`ve highlighted this

Yoss: where you were going is BigQ states he was told about racism before the players heard 'accusations' about Marvin. Now it's because of what they read on here.
Further, Marvin was apparently being racially abused by sections of the crowd throughout the game, including comments about bananas. Now, well it's unclear what is being accused now but it's clearly a wstered down version to the original.

Really, it is so f*cking pathetic that Ayr fans are getting so worked up about a player laughing. Fook sake, people smile and laugh all the time, just because a player is down injured, dosent mean to say we should get the black armbands out.
I hope the boy makes a speedy recovery obviously, but some Ayr fans really need to get a grip! If they had won 3-0 would this "incident" be getting flogged to death?

Perhaps some of the Ayr support called Marvin's mum a terrorist whore, or made sick jokes about his kids dieing. If you think harder you'll probably be able to come up with some more outlandish claims. Perhaps involving nuns, wheelchairs and bovril or something.
Ayr's support were very quiet yesterday. Every shout could be heard in the home end. What has been posted is lies. FACT!

Well.... this has been an interesting thread, wasn't at the game (gutted) and have spent the majority of the weekend in a drunken stupor.
I actually have nothing to add to this discussion, as Dunc has previously noted, I'd like a receipt for the time spent trawling through the crap from both sets of fans regarding one incident which I'm sure Alun will never forget and the rest of us will struggle to remember.
Still, it's upsetting to hear that Ayr are in trouble off the park, it's never nice to see a football team's existence threatened and I casn only hope it never reaches the dire stages that my team did.
Anyhoo, onwards and upwards.

Without our goals, the "highlights" would have consisted of Ryan Borris hitting the post and the tackle on Stevenson. Mind you, some time could have been filled with big Marv laughing (assuming he was laughing for that long).

From my view at the away exit, it looked like a stupid needless (typical Davo challenge) and was deserving of a card. This is based on my view and not on the resulting injury.

It looked pretty reckless, but given that neither the ref nor the Ayr fans on here seemed bothered about it I thought I must have seen it wrong. Having watched the video, clearly I should've backed my initial judgement. I hope Stevenson is okay.

Slow it down frame by frame. There's no way he won the ball, his leading foot goes over it and catches Stevo's leg. If anything, its his other foot which touches the ball, by which time Stevo's 6ft in the air!
