I posted that one up someplace on here the day it was launched.

What was the tagline for the DVD? Actually that could be a whole new thread on it's own...

Relive Celtic's glorious draw in the non-glamorous pre-competition qualifier.

Fair play to Celtic; it works for them.

They have the right idea with regards to marketing and merchandising. Indeed, a friend of mine in Texas reports that he sees many Celtic strips about town (Austin) most days. They truly are becoming a global brand.

Of course many would say that it exemplifies everything wrong with modern football, but from the point of view of the fan and the shareholder, it's all gravy.

There's a new Rangers DVD out for Christmas called Walter's Return. It's basically the second half of last season's goals and highlights (when we gloriously won nothing) and the highlights from the first half of this season (when we still haven't won anything). The main highlights appear to be the Old Firm wins and some interviews and stuff.

Personally, it would've been better just to wait for 52 & Counting: Quadruple Triumph - SPL, Scottish Cup, CIS Cup & CL winning campaigns.
Makoliunas
I remember a couple of seasons ago Hibs seemed to be bringing out a DVD every time they won a big game - 2-1 wins at Celtic Park and the like. Good results, but hardly worth getting that excited over.

Then again, the club probably made a profit on it, which is what it's all about, really. It's the people who'd actually go out and buy that shite that I worry about, rather than the clubs.

Well I don’t know what happened there – mist have been a live link that will change when the page changes.

Just to confirm, it is not a 3 for 2 offer (or whatever else appears) that I am saying is shameless, it is the selling of FC St Pauli merchandise.

We have him on a 4/5 year deal and he is still very young, with the progress he has made in the last 2/3 years you'd be mad to sell him just now. Although i would us to tie him up on life contract, thats not going to happen so get what we can 4/5 years down the line when we will get optimum return on him and also have an extremely talented player at the club for a good few years...

Don't you agree????

Liam Miller was going to be a great Celtic player......now he is disappeared of the football map. Celtic need money to improve the squad, even you must agree on that and 9 million is not going to come into CP on a regular basis.....take the money!!!

PS i do agrre with you....but money must come first at CP...how many decent players could 9 million buy? enough to tie up the Huns in 2nd place for a while!!

See thats your problem you think that we need to tie them up for a while, when in reality we will beat them to the title with the squad we have. Not that i don't agree we could use the cash, but Brown is the best midfielder in the country and i don't think the best team should be selling there best players to try and keep another team down!!!

And you've used this analogy before, and while i can see where your coming from, the two cases are vastly different, what with experience, talent and general type of player!!! For what it's worth i still think wee miller would have BECOME a good player if he'd stayed on at Celtic and got the footballing education he needed!!!

sorry im not convinced the current Celtic team can retain the title, both them and the Huns have dropped silly points this season and it has to stop for one side if the want to win the title. Thank god it's a two horse race we don't really have to worry about another team actually winning the title.

Well it's all a matter of opinion so....I think we could easily retain the title with the team we have although i'm sure your favorite manager will be looking to strengthen the team come january!!!

I'd actually prefer to have to worry about another team, hibs and united look as if they might do something although winning the title will be too much for them they still look very competitive!!!

Jesus, that is taking the piss.

I got a loan of a season ticket for Celtic Park for the Falkirk game before XMas and was pretty surprised at the number of seats that were empty. I very much doubt you're anywhere near the 50000 season tickets of five or six years ago and that may well fall off further if you don't stop Der Hun this season!

We will be around the 50k mark but certainly a couple of thousand down. Just because the attendance was low doesn't mean that those empty seats were not paid for.

The plc want to give off this belief that there are thousands waiting for a season ticket when clearly this is not the case. Several people I have heard of who have went up to Celtic Park and got a season ticket no problem. The route the plc are taking is nothing new of course, under McCann there was once aclaim that we had a 10k waiting list!! All of this fits in nicely of course with the plc's lies over Celtic Park attendances.

I do realise that.

The point I was getting at was that existing season ticket holders don't seem to be turining up as you would expect. In my view that could mean a problem with renewals if you end up shipping the League this year.

I don't think it will, albeit there might be a slight reduction. Our support has been conditioned into getting season tickets to at the very least, guarantee tickets for CL games and to a lesser extent huns games. I wouldn't underestimate how important that is to many.

I think the plc though are anxious about how noteable fall in attendances and our problems in shifting away tickets. This advert and rekindling talk of a waiting list is simply a means to coerce supporters, or rather 'customers', into reneweing their season ticket even if they are not going to turn up to every game.
