Can now look forward to this game. Intresting to see what team Weir lines up with tomorrow night as Gibby should back after illness ruled him out on Saturday. Think we might see Jay Stein rested and Black in his place.

Not seen him huffing at all this season when he's been subbed or that. Different manager and surroundings maybe what he needed.

Next 3 games are huge for us:

Stranraer (home)
Arbroath (away)
East Fife (away)

I know its early in the season but if we can take say 7 pts from 9 I think we'd cement our position in the playoffs or am I getting carried away! ph34r.gif

Stranraer (home)
Arbroath (away)
Clyde (away) get through that and you never know a nice money spinning tie.
East Fife (away)

Screw the 7 points from 9 lets take all 9 and that keeps us in the hunt for 1st place and also opens up a gap between Arbroath & Stranraer.

Has Steven Doris had much of a chance, and in what position?

You're already in the play-offs. Every team outside the top 4 is absolutely howling.

Don't know if he played on Saturday but played last week (off the bench) out on the right wing.

our next three

Montrose (away)
East Fife (home)
Arbroath (away)

7 points would be just grand thx.

Doris came off the bench against Albion Rovers up front and did really well. He was playing on the right wing on Saturday and again did really well offering height & pace.

So much for your theory that we have an advantage because of our pitch. wink.gif

First half last night was the worst display since Albion on the opening day. At one point Stranraer had 5 or 6 consecutive corners. They fully deserved their 3 goal margin at half time, the second goal was particularly good.

We brought on Andreoni and Rogers at half time and started the second half really well, got an early goal then conceded a sloppy goal to kill the game. The flag happy stand side linesman was so, so bad. At one point Andy Rogers ran from two yards behind the last defender and was still given offside. Jay Stein then scored the goal of the season and time just petered out.

Stranraer fully deserved to win this one, their big baldy centre half was superb all night, never missing a header all game.

Note to management-3-5-2 formation DOES NOT WORK. 4-4-2 was the formation earlier in the season when we were on fire and it makes sense to revert to that again.

Not looking forward to the trip to Greyskull on Saturday, I can only hope that last night was the much needed kick up the arse we needed.
mon the mo
rotten performance, out of the ten or so I have been to, that has to be the worst (although i did miss opening day)

first half against the wind - why on earth would we hoof the ball looking for knock ons when we are playing against giants?? we have a nice flat pitch and it would have made far greater sense to get the ball on the floor and create space that way.

granted stranrear were a decent team, couple of very good players and their counter attack was quite dangerous, tbh our backline was pretty poor last night (other than dobbins) and tade was in behind the defence every fucking time.

two very important matches coming up which will shape the way our season goes, we have been playing some excellent football this season but the inconsistency is going to lose our promotion hopes unsure.gif

1-0 to Stewart who never gave the Montrose defence a break and took his goal superbly all be it he had a wee punch at it to knock it in to his path (only one hand though laugh.gif ) with M Mullen probably out for a couple of weeks more or less assured of a starting line up place during his loan spell.

Noticed that Adam Coakley played almost 80 minutes of the game - how did he do?
