Great to see Forfar club captain Alan Rattray back today and he scored a good headed goal to give us a first half lead we more than deserved and could have added to on a few occasions.
Stranraer came out firing second half and got the equaliser and it was pretty level (and a good game) from there. Ratts again saved our bacon by heading off the line on to the bar/post and away when it looked like a certain winner for Stranraer.
Much improved performance by Forfar today and with Rattray, John Fraser and Paul Lunan all back we looked a far better proposition than in the first quarter of the season.
Also nice to see Gregory giving the small bunch of home fanns in the enclosure a wee clap at the start, class man that, best of luck to him at Stranraer!

Having watched Forfar recently against Albion Rovers I had high hopes for 3 points in this game. Clearly getting a few players back into the team has helped as they were a much better team yesterday.
First half was fairly even and I couldn't complain that Forfar were a goal up as they probably just shaded it. Disappointed that Alan Rattray was given the freedom of Angus to head in the goal though.
Second half we dominated and should have won the game. Tremendous work by Banjo McKinstry on the right and a great cross for Michael Mullen to head in the equaliser. Quite how Rattray managed managed to keep out the other great chance I don't know. Looked a certain goal and even after it rattled the bar it still looked like it should have dropped in.
Two draws last two games but both we should have won, at least it keeps our unbeaten run going and we can still look forward to lady luck giving us our turn by smiling on us some time soon.

Was astonished to hear the Station Park tannoy announce John Fraser as Man of the Match. For the home side Rattray scored in the first half and then twice cleared the ball off the home goal line in the second half. By far and away the best home player!
As for us, I think our best performers were all at the back as well, with McKinstry, Kane and McLauchlan all doing well.
Maybe that was why it was a low scoring draw!!

Very true clayhole ratts should have been man of the match.
But since the sponers of the game dont have a clue about football its says its all when they announce the man of the match.
As usually it has no relevance to the game the punters have watched.

Very often the case at Stair Park as well with the sponsor picking either the player he has heard off or the player he likes best regardless how he played that day but if they are paying for the game it matters very little.

To be fair I thought Fraser played very well for us in midfield. However Ratts should have got it for the home team just for the rollicking he gave Sandy Wood after Stranraer equalised - quality!

a good open game on Saturday played by two sides both of whose problems lie with their defence.
Rattray's was a great header for the opener, a combination of McNally and Wood to blame for the equaliser, which was poor stuff.
Still the level of performance was better and should ease any pressure a bit on Moffat. Both sides could easily have won. There certainly wasn't the length of a division between the two of them.
