Well we defeated The Mo' earlier on in the season.
This game will prove a tougher test for us, hopefully we will rise to it

.
With a drastic improvment under the guidance of Jim Weir im sure Montrose will prove their worth, while also pushing for promotion.
Roll on Saturday

After the way we played in pre season the game against your lot was a massive disappointment. We are looking a lot better now though so hopefully 3 points for us.
This will be my first visit to Cliftonhill and was wondering where is the best place to park the motor & is there a pub close by?
Cheers

Leave the motor at home, it is Coatbridge you are visiting after all!
Head for the legendary 'Big Owens', a five minute stroll from the ground.

Careful Montrose good teams always struggle to play on that cowfield I saw Cowden on it when Marcus P and a lot of good players struggled on it.

According to Sky Sports News, Jay Stein travelled into the future to score in the 70th minute when there were only about 50 minutes on the clock. I take it this goal was disallowed and the final score was 2-1?
Sky still reporting it as 3-1

I think they typed in `70` instead of `50` - I understand it finished 3-1

No it was 3-1 acording to texts I got from the game. All the media score feeds were inaccurate.
Mo went 2-0 through Stein and a minute later Rovers equalised. Their goal was timed at 56 mins and when I received news of Stein's goal, no way was there 70 on the clock, so I'd say the time of his goal was just mis-reported.
At one point Sky website said 1-1 but listed three scorers. Doesn't seem to be any doubt about Andy or Dobb's goals nor that we got the 3 points though! And very important they were too with Arbroath and the Raer dropping points today.

just back, 3-1 with goals from Rogers, Stein, and Dobs. Keeper error for their goal but wont dwell on that. A great result and other scores went the right way.

Peat's error thank goodness didn't prove to costly apart from my wallet as I had 3-0 but my mate had 3-1 so happy days all round.
Noticed it was Montrose vs 12 refs today with Albion trying to ref the game who do they think they are Robbie Raeside?
New boy on loan from St Johnston looked good when he came on with a good spring and winning a lot in the air.
Shock of the game though is Dob's shaved head no longer the ponytail

The referee today was nothing short of shocking!
Where he pulled some of the decisions from, well it beats me.
As for the game we were defeated yet again by a side not much better than ourselves.
We need to take a long hard look at the team and go into the Scottish Cup first round with a clean slate.
C'mon The Rovers!

He had very few chances although his overall workrate again was fantastic.
As for the ref I think most of his bookings were fair MacKenzie espeically being lucky for the way he tried to ref the game.

Another Saturday, another sickener!
We actually didn't look too bad in spells yesterday, although playing a defender in left midfield and a left midfielder up front just didn't work. Bizarrely, there was a striker on the bench (Pat Walker) who must now be wondering if he has any future at Rovers, especially when the manager goes to such lengths to avoid playing him.
All of that said, the better team did win. We might have got back into it after Peat gifted us a goal (the only positive thing he's ever done for Rovers, even though we employed him for a while), but really didn't create very much at all despite moving the ball well in parts.
Shipyard next week - that's a hiding to nothing for us. We'll be expected to win well, and will get slaughtered by all and sundry if we don't.

I would agree that we were the better team, had a few chances before we actually scored. When we scored the second I thought that we would go on to comfortably win, but Peat chuckin the ball into the net seemed to wake up the Rovers and they started to dominate and looked dangerous. we gradually regained control and sealed the win towards the end. If Rovers played with the tempo with which they played after 'they' scored, they would be a decent team. Rovers fans may think the ref was harsh for dishing out at least 3 bookings for dissent, but I would say the ref was correct-too much questioning of the ref goes on in football these days, and Rovers were at it all day.

Glad to get back to winning ways and score some goals! We've hardly looked like were going hit the back of net lately. Has anyone got the starting eleven ? i cant find it anywere. Also who would you pick as man of match?
Links_Park_Dynamo
Oct 21 2007, 15:34
Was exactly the same starting eleven as against Elgin so it was Peat, Cumming, Dobbins, McLeod, Gardiner, Davidson, Gibson, Andreoni, Stein, Baird & Rodgers.
Would have to Dobbins prob shades it as Man of the match for us anyways as he dealt with everything in the air looked solid with the ball at his feet and he chipped in with a goal.

I thought Cumming played well yesterday. Dobbins was probably my man of the match too-looked calm and assured all day and as previous poster states won just about everything in the air. Midfield as a whole also played well. A good solid performance at a difficult venue, with flashes of some really good incisive fitba.

How did Hugh play on the right wing? Iv not been a fan of him since hes moved from the right back slot but cumming seems to be doing ok there. Would rather have Gates on Wing tho!

Davidson did well yesterday, I must admit I haven't been impressed with him so far this season especially at right back. He doesn't have the positional sense of a full back and to my mind he was at fault for the Dumbarton goal a couple of weeks back-but then again if he is played out of position, you can't blame him too much. He was at right midfield yesterday and played well.

Dissapointment yet again.
Thought it was a poor game on the whole, bad tempered, fiesty.
It petered out near the end and neither team showed great skill.
Montrose deserved the win and we can't take that away from them.
