Anyone pre ordered this, or downloaded the demo from Xbox Live?

Eurogamer Review

From the sounds of it, this could be the first game to make the 360 the must have console (or have a high end PC).

Halo 3 might be in bother. wink.gif
StandFree03
I downloaded the demo yesterday. Graphics are utterly amazing and the gameplay is excellent. I am really looking forward to this smile.gif

Got it today from play.com. smile.gif

YOU ABSOLUTE FUCKING b*****d!!!!! Amazon claims mine will arrive "Aug 31st - Sep 6th"

Actually, there isn't a smiley that truely conveys my anger.

I hate you.

That's pretty shocking considering official release date is tomorrow. Can't you cancel and pick it up somewhere tomorrow?

PS It's excellent. wink.gif

I think it's because I rather stupidly went for the limited edition one with the metal case. I was thinking of cancelling it.

EDIT: Cancelled

That reviewer I think 'came' over this game.

I'm not really a game player (I have a PS2 and a Gamecube and don't play either) but that was one helluva review.

I retract that statement. I cancelled my Amazon order, and on my way to the Chili Peppers gig at Hampden, I nipped into G Force on Union St and picked it up. cool.gif

Is it any good though? I liked the Demo but heard mixed reviews.
KnightswoodBear
Been playing it a bit this morning. Yes it seems to be excellent. Very atmospheric.

I dont think there has been any mixed reviews, its been rated between 9-10 in everything.

The demo is fantastic

Where's the cheapest place to purchase the full game?

In a shop, Blockbuster, £34.95 - you can get it marginally cheaper elsewhere, i think the cheapest i have seen is about £31-32.
StandFree03
Been playing it since lunchtime. Killed a couple of big Daddies and fair chapping on.

It's good smile.gif
StandFree03
Girlfriend has kicked me off it to watch River City sad.gif

How far on are y'all? I'm past the fish market place and at some door where a guy was away to let me in then one of the crawling dudes from the very start came through the roof.

Really enjoying this so far though, apart from the fact that you can't die. I don't like that very much at all...
garymcc1874
I'm on the 4th level. Getting very, very hard.

Dealt with every Little Sister so far, but went to harvest on one of them before realising there is an achievement for completing the game without harvesting a single 1.

I've had 4 and not harvested any. I thought the "good" approach might get me some decent plasmids.

You do start getting gifts for killing them later on and not just Adam.
KnightswoodBear
I'm not that far on at the moment, just past the bit you need to get the telekenisis (sp?) plasmid to be able to shift the debris in front of the door.

I haven't came across any Little Sisters yet though. It's absolutely ace though. cool.gif

Edit: The hacking minigames are addictive as f**k as well.

I think I am on the last bit of the game unsure.gif

It's been bloody good though

You ain't, unless you've been playing offline and not getting achievements updated.

I've not completed it yet but I've heard it is a bit on the short side like a lot of games now. sad.gif

Been playing offline as my internet connection is fucking shit at the moment.

I will be on later for you to have a look wink.gif

I bought this, Moto GP 07 and Blue Dragon on Friday, I still havent put on Bioshock yet laugh.gif

Just been on and you are at the same bit I am on. Colecting the bomb parts?

Aye, just completed the bomb now. Just planted the bomb. Next bit is hard as hell.

EDIT Actually it's not very hard laugh.gif
garymcc1874
There's still lots of the game left to play from that point, StandFree. smile.gif

I just completed that section there and I've been playing it all morning. Still 2 more full levels/worlds/whatever they are.
Gaz
Is it as good as Deus Ex?
garymcc1874
Completed the game now. Only managed 27 of the 50 achievements though.

After completing it, here is quite a bit after that point but not as much as I expected. The last level is incredibly short as the final part is actually quite easy.

I think Ive almost finished it. Started using the crossbow for about the first time too, how much fun is it laugh.gif

I'm at the bit where my plasmids are all changing randomly after drinking the antidote...

Peggle is excellent though cool.gif

Id take the pepsi challenge with it and peggle any day of the week. I think FPS games are just not my cup of tea anymore, i cant remember the last one i enjoyed properly, the first call of duty probably. All the pipe fitting mini games are tedious.
KnightswoodBear
I rather cleverly managed to break my left wrist at fives last night, so I can't even fucking hold my 360 pad properly at the moment. And I was fucking loving this too. mad.gif
Gaz
I decided to treat myself to this yesterday. It's ace, not as good as Deus Ex though. Currently I've just photographed three spider splicers for Peachy and now I'm about to go into his fishery.

I actually dont think its that great, its pretty linear, and nothing we havent seen before. Im currently playing Stuntman, which is brilliant, very original game (not counting the original stuntman on the ps2).
Gaz
I like it, I haven't really played many FPSs on consoles so it's probably the first one I've ever really enjoyed. I've also just created an awesome Bebo skin for it cool.gif
Gaz
Just completed it. Brilliant game but a bit short. Got 670 AP on my first playthrough so just got the rest to get now.
rw89
Just completed it. Very good game, went for the harvesting option. Got some pretty neat stuff towards the end.
garymcc1874
I harvested one to see what it did then realised there was a 100G achievement for saving them all.

Apparantly there is 2 different endings to the game, depending on how many you've harvested.
Gaz
I got the "good" ending for saving all the ones I found. I'm now playing through it again to get the achievements I missed out on. Just about to restore the forest.
KnightswoodBear
Saddo alert!!!!!!!

I've just found out that a large part of the plot for this game is based on the book "Atlas Shrugged" by Ayn Rand.

I suppose that Andrew Ryan is a play on her name.

There you go.
Gaz
On my second playthrough, I realised that it's not all it's cracked up to be at all.
the_russian
I've had this game for ages an had only given it 5mins before getting hooked on Oblivion (which i've now completed) and GTA4 was getting a bit tedious, so I decided to give Bioshock a go and I'm getting right into it. Its very rare that i'll play a game right through to the end but I could see myself playing this a fair bit.

I'm quite the opposite. I have been playing this again lately and I am starting to appreciate things more than I did the first time.
KnightswoodBear
I still haven't finished this. I seemed to stop playing it for some reason. I'll need to look it out again
the_russian
Right in the thick of it now, cracking game.
