I always liked Gary Kelly! He was out for most of this season with injuries and I think was sent out on loan to get fitness but never got back into the team. If he can keep fit he will be a good signing for Shire.

Didn't really see a lot of McBride as we signed him in January and I came back from Finland in March but from what I did see he was decent but does have a cracking left peg on him!
igor
From what I saw of McBride he looked handy, and as Sting says, he has a great left peg. Kelly is a worker in midfield, not the most gifted of players but he'll put a shift in. Good signings for Shire, certainly much better than what you had (Paul Stewart excluded wink.gif )

I've been there and ate at the Lordi Restuarant! I'm a celebrity in Lapland you know!

McBride was the best left full back in the league two seasons ago for Cowdenbeath.

Gary Kelly should prove to be a good signing if he can stay injury free. In our promotion season from the Second Division he was excellent and really came onto a game in the second half of the campaign. Got forward effectively and scored plenty of goals, including the equaliser in 'that' 4-2 game against the Shire. I really liked him as a player and he will certainly give his all - I see the Shire boss has described him as a physical presence, not sure I'd go along with that but a good player none-the-less.

In seasons 2002/02 and 02/03 he played the combined total of 4 games and 2 of them were sub appearances and they were all in 2002/03.

Gary Kelly started 8 games that season, we got promoted from the Third Division, he never played in any team that got promoted from the 2nd Division. In our promotion winning season he never started a game after the 7th of February.

In 50 (24+26) appearances for the Albion he scored 3 goals.

One in a victory over Queens Park in the Scottish Cup.
One in a defeat from Arbroath in the next round of the Scottish Cup.
One in the legendary 4-2 game at Firs Park

Did we have some other Gary Kelly or are you thinking of someone else. cool.gif

I agree, the bugger always scored against us! Even the 1-1 game when we played them off the park on a Tues night he had one pop shot and it went in of 6 deflections! Hope he does it for us this time.

Agreed that McBride is a good signing, certainly a better calibre of player than you've had in the last 5 years or so.
Liam
Sorry guys but McBride was a huge disappointmentat EF as far I'm concerned! Thought his first touch was abysmal & couldn't tackle a fish supper! Great goal at Hampden but apart from that "could do better!"
Gary Kelly will do a job for Shiree though no doubt!
Liam
That'll be McBride guaranteed to have a least 4 superb performances next season now!!!

That was his brother Paul who scored that night.

Kevin will be a good signing for the Shire.

Homophobia is a thing of the past, but the jokes about gays will remain. But who gives a shit anyway. laugh.gif
