Given the relative closeness of most of the teams and the fact they will all take points off each other, I would say that 68 should be enough this year

2) Make the promotion playoffs

This depends on whether Morton are pegged back or not. If they are not then the points for a play off place are lower. If they are pegged back then the points needed goes up because what would have been Morton's points are distributed. I reckon this year that 52 points are required


3) Avoid the relegation playoffs

Forfar are in danger of getting achored at the bottom because of their small squad/injuries and the fact that those players they have are not that great anyway. That means the stakes are raised to avoid second bottom - I reckon 40 points should be OK but Hamilton got relegated with 44 points a few seasons ago.

I also reckon Tonsilitis used the same method as me when doing the calculation given the results were almost identical
