Nope, tried it and stil ldoesn't work. I've put connection sharing on my Tiscali connection and it still doesn't work. When I test the connection on the 360 it fails at IP address every time.

It's well known that connecting an X-Box to X-Box Live via a PC is very, very tricky and temperamental.
Does your modem have more than one Ethernet socket? Is it possible to run two cables from the modem, one into your computer and one into your X-Box?
Another thing to try, if you can't do what I suggested above, is take your Ethernet cable out your PC and plug it into your X-Box then try to connect. If it connects, then it's a problem with your PC sending the signal to the X-Box. If it doesn't connect then it's a problem with your X-Box.
Buy a router, problem solved.

Jeez. When I think back to the frustration of trying to do this almost a year ago.
It took me hours of fiddling about with firewall settings and the like to set up the ICS. If I can do it anyone can though. Good luck Standfree.
