It seems as if the best left back in the league (Stewart Devine) has fallen out with Mr Moore and might have played his last game for the Beanos. Morton boys always seem to fancy having Sydney so how about a swap in the January transfer window ?
We're short up front so if you pay off big Temps then he'd do in exchange...failing that do you have any other forwards we'd be interested in ?

When wee Paul goes back to Parkhead we will be needing big Temps I think, but Devine would be a welcome addition to our team

Don't you think there is a chance McGowan will stay for the whole season ? Yeh, he's a decent wee player but you can't see him getting anywhere near the Celtic team for a couple of seasons yet.

I think he will be with us till the end of the season, it makes sense for all three parties, plus Paul himself has already stated he does not want to leave Morton before the end of the season and Morton have said the same, the ball is in Celtics court.
Thats a pity as devine is good going forward and hits a sweet free kick - I thought he may have moved up a division by now.
Hope we can limit roycroft and mcnallys appearances as they are both disasters waiting to happen.

You could have Kenny McLean or Ryan Russell. McLean is a promising striker who was our top reserve scorer last season and played in the Peterhead away play off match. He knows where the goal is. Ryan Russell arrived from Motherwell close season and is a decent left winger. Both are now on the bench every week but can't get a game because in terms of strikers we have Lilley, McGowan and Templeman plus at left wing/midfield we have Jim McAllister and neither is likely to displace him.

If Devine goes, we need to get another left-back quick smart, because Forsyth just can't cut it in that position.
The thing that annoys me most about the Devine saga, is that we wants to play for the Albion, as he loves it here, and he's one of the finest left backs in the league.
Yet ole jug-ears would rather he left because he's fallen out with him.
No happy with this at all.

Apparently not as we have rejected two bids for Deviney from Morton, both higher than 10,000.
From the sounds of it MacKenzie has a unrealistic valuation on his head though...

That was before he fell out with Allan Moore - at the moment while Moore refuses to play him he is little more than a drain on resources and even McKenzie probably realises this. His contract is up at the end of the season too which leaves us with little room to manueover.
Sounds like Dunfermline are interested in him though so he may simply bypass Morton.

i ftrue he might, though we may offer him mroe than dunfermline can and likley (touch wood) first division next season. Though he'd still go for pars.

We will get him for next to f**k all if we want him, we only paid £27k for a far better player in Stevenson.

I was under the impression you guys had a fair sized debt, or is that wrong?
Seems a lot to turn down for a club like Albion.

What is financially sound has no bearing in the mind the Stirling Albion directors.
In all honesty, if we had accepted £28k for Devine last season, I would have been a wee bit pissed off, while acknowledging that it's a good price. With hindsight, we should have bitten Morton's hand off.

Given the scoreline that day, I beg to differ!! No, you can't have any of them. What happens if any of our first team get injured or suspended? Do we just play a man down? I know we're good but come on Tonsilitis even you can't profess to us being that good!

Given the size of our debt, £28k is nothing so it's not really surprising that it was turned down.

I think wee Kenny is a decent wee player and I do not hold it against him for not scoring in that particular game - he was dropped a bit in at the deep end for that match. I would not be talking about both players going, just one or the other and we would be getting a decent left back in return, a position a lot of Morton fans have wanted strengthened for some time now.

£28K is a whacking amount of money for a full-back at this level, however good. Especially one with only a year left on his contract.
In fact, has a defender in the 2nd div ever been sold for more?

If Morton sold their best player, regardless of the price, wouldn't you be pissed off? £28k would obviously have been a good price for Devine, but fans generally like to see their best players stay at the club.

Devine missed the first week of pre season because he was on holiday. This was held against him by Moore. He was also injured at the start of the season and now he can't get back in the team as we are getting ok results.
With nuggets out for a while, Stewart may get his chance. If however he is not in the team by the January window he will certainly be gone.
I personally would be sad to see him go. He loves playing for the Albion and would be in almost all of the fans first XI.
Hope he can fight his way back in but I would not bet on it.

When you fall out with the gaffer, the game is pretty much up and i reckon thats whats happened here.
Devine is probably the best left back in the league, so results shouldnt have a bearing whether gets back in the team, especially since we havent had a consistent left back during those results.
