I had just dusted down my old copy of Fifa 2002 and decided to install it on my current computer, that appears to have went fine. However when I try to start the programme up which I have done at least 7 times I hear a running noise as if the computer is trying to process something and then the computer goes quiet again and I cannot start up the game. I was wondering what might be causing this and how I would be able to start the game. Cheers.

P.S The game is compatible with Windows XP.

Is the noise your CD drive trying to read the CD? unsure.gif If so, check the cd for scratches and try cleaning it.

You could also try running the game in compatability mode. Right click on the shortcut, choose properties, click on the Compatability tab then tick the box that says "Run this in compatability mode for". Try Windows 2000 first, but try the others if it doesnt work.

After installing the game again through the custom option last night it appeared to work, however earlier on when I came home I tried to start up the game, but the error message came up again.

If it happens after my current re-installation, I'll try your advice and take it from there. smile.gif

The disk seems perfectly fine.

My re-installation has just finished there, and the game is working fine again. huh.gif
