Yeah but they drew against Lithuania at home and were pumped by France. So it follows that they will drop down the rankings. Just because they are World Champions does not mean they are unbeatable.

Being World Cup holders is different to being the best team in the world. By that logic, Hearts were the best team in Scotland last season.

I think that's a bit better than before and not just where Scotland are I for one am glad to see USA down at 29 instead of 5th which was just a joke

Funny how things turn out. Sky reported England were 4th and I thought to myself "these rankings are utter bollocks". Then it was announced Scotland were 34th and it pleased me no end.

Completely agree there,the fact the Yanks were so high up made the last system a bit of a joke.

Still,onwards and upwards for us-here's hoping by the end of the next double header we'll be well into the top 30

The rankings are still, to an extent, bollocks. However, since the world cup they've introduced a new system of calculating it, which tries to avoid anomalies like Scotland being below Thailand just because Thailand haven't lost, played or indeed won any games in 5 years and Scotland have lost to Holland in a playoff.

So while not wholly accurate - it would be largely impossible for somethign of this nature to be accurate - it certainly shows the vast improvement Walter has made.
