Full Version: Buying The New Scotland Top
The Pie Shop > International & Other Football & Other Sports > Tartan Army Ramblings

Right.

I know the new top is on sale; but I haven't seen it in any shops; I've been in JJB and JD and neither had it nor had a space for it as if it was sold out.

The only place I've seen them for sale is online huh.gif

That can't be right can it?

Anyone know if the high-street shops are selling the new Scotland top or are we all expected to get one online? (no credit card so I can't buy online)

Think they are available from Greaves or other smaller sports retailers. Apparently the SFA fell out with JJB and Sports Soccer because they undercut them on the last strip.

Fairly stupid move by the SFA IMO then.

Just because the larger stores cut the price a bit, they've decided to stop selling in the largest and most commonly seen retailers out of spite rolleyes.gif

Not a lot of this version are gonna be sold methinks cos if folk can't get it in the main stores like JJB, (which for some places is the only sports retailer for miles), they just aren't gonna bother going out of their way to get it at the inflated RRP smaller stores charge.

NB: I bought the last top for £20 in Sports Soccer and I'm not willing to pay over £30 for a Scotland top, so if I can't get it that cheap I won't be buying one

I think they will probably get them - but it wont be for a month or two. I dont think it will be anything more than a slap on the wrist.

There were a number of rumours going about that diadora had failed to produce enough. However, I suspect it is just that, a rumour.

Given that the only shops down here are JJB and Sports Soccer, I won't hold my breath then... mad.gif

I'm not paying over £20 for it as I need to buy two to keep the whole household happy. Where can I get it for £20 now Sport Soccer have none?

I think, but I cant confirm, that Smiths in Greenock will be selling it.
They have something to do with the 'scotlandkit.com' site.
Maybe another morton fan or someone from greenock who knows better can confirm?
BELLROCK
Intersport have them in Arbroath, if not already sold out !
But i had to go to Dundee and get one for the bairn (the last one)

The attitudes being expressed here are precisely why the high street is dying. Fair enough folk will be looking to get bargains wherever possible, but surely it wouldn't hurt to support your local sports shop once in a while?

Although I can't remember the name of it there is a sports shop on Leith Walk that has them, and has had them for the past couple of weeks.

pretty certain that i saw the scotland top on sale in smiths last time i was in there (a few days ago). they also had a sign outside advertising that they would be selling it for a week or two before it was made available.

intersport is part of smiths in greenock, so it would make sense that intersport stores across the country will probably be stocking the scotland strip smile.gif

I just got the last large one in Intersport in Portree. Its great that its available in somewhere like Skye but only the SFA know why the top can be bought in Portree but not in Inverness, the only city in the Highlands rolleyes.gif
