Another obsecure one for the masses. Goalkeepers apart, which Scottish player holds the record for playing the most number of consecutive games without scoring a goal?

Alternatively, the worst strike-rate?

On the latter point, Saints' Johnny Welsh (1931-40) managed 1 goal in his 280 appearances for the club, whilst Charlie McFadyen (1955-65) managed only 4 in 336 games.

A rather pointless fact is that if doing two years national service hadn't been compulsory, McFadyen would most likely hold the record for the most number of appearances for Saints ahead of the recently deceased Drew Rutherford.

Boyd for Celtic or Malpas for Dundee United?

Mark McNally has played 120 something games (and counting, sadly) for Stirling and not scored yet. According to the Albion programme he has scored 6 in about 380 games.

Unless we're counting own goals.... dry.gif

Harry Cairney must be in with a shout!

I have a strong suspicion this one belongs to a Clyde player!

Ross McFarlane played 376 games for us over the course of 12 years and didn't score one single goal.

Not one! laugh.gif

Craig Valentine played over 300 games for Alloa (I think) and never scored. He also played a lot of games for Berwick and only managed a goal or two. Dont know how he even managed that to be honest, he hardly ever crossed the halfway line.
