To be fair I think he was a striker to start out with but a lack of goals and form prompted a switch to the wing to make best use of his pace and decent dribbling. He does seem quite lively out there and maybe it would be a decent shout to give it a go...we've just lost a right winger and Shields could be the answer out there....but I'm not holding my breath.
Shields was sensational on the right wing - he was Ok through the centre and scored some goals and was in OK form. However, tried out on the right wing he was superb - 10 games or so later Gretna forced us to sell for £30k.
