Just home from the Scotland game today and was horrified at some of the racist and homophobic chants in evidence.

"If you hate the fúckíng English clap your hands" and "we hate Jimmy Hill he's a poof"

Is their any place for this sort of stuff in a modern Scotland? or do the rest of the posters on here believe its only unn acceptable to chant derogotary songs about Catholics, Protestants, and Black people?

I would hazard a guess that half the spanners in parkhead today dont spend their afternoons watching football and aint "real football fans" whatever that means, and just go to games as an excuse to dress up like women and act "zany"

The news this week about Man City joining the Diversity Champions scheme in an attempt to make gay, lesbian and bisexual supporters feel more at ease with attending football is long overdue. Hopefully it will be the first step in eradicating the last acceptable form of bigotry left in football stadiums - homophobia.

There is no excuse for racism in football now a days. They are fighting very hard to kick racism out of football but a small minority are spoiling it for everyone else. These people should be given life time bans it's the only way to stop them.

When we're singing 'If you hate the fcuking English', we are, in fact, referring to the football team, not the country. I'm quite sure the Germans have a good few anti-Dutch songs, and the Greeks have one or two anti-Turkey songs.

Part of being a football supporter entails having a go at your rivals. It's been that way since the year dot, and personally, I'd hate it if that was taken out of the game.
