Will the Inverness Cup be played this season because i have not seen any sign of it being played this season. It's a good competion because you see how the youth players come up against players who play week in week out for senior sides.
Another thing if it is on this season what teams will be playing Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Clach or will Inverness City be playing because did'nt Golspie play in it some seasons back.
Both County and Caley pulle dout of it last season, and will do this season if it runs. I think its dead.

There's no need for it really, the NOS Cup is the tournament except on a slightly larger scale.

No its not. The North of Scotland Cup you have to enter, as a requirement of SFA membership status you must play in your local FA's cup. The Inverness Cup was an invitational trophy, that was very succesful when they were alot of local teams competing (i.e before our exile to the SFL).

Maybe Inverness City might play in this seasons Inverness Cup since they are the new senior side in Inverness.
The only reason now i think the Inverness Cup could be regenerated is if it turns into a similar tournament as the Amsderdam tournament or on are skale the Buchan Cup. Invite teams to play in a two day Competation or more.
Absolutely. I can't see it having a future in its current format. Even five or six years ago we used to get a healthy turn out for a Caley County derby in this competition. The interest has just flagged of late. Certainly the Erskine Challenge Cup in Elgin was a reasonable success, and now Caley are an established SPL side they could draw bigger clubs along.

The cup is being played this year. Caley Thistle beat Golspie on Tuesday on 10-0
That game was acutually in the Umax North of Scotland Cup. not the Inverness Cup.
Haha he quickly deleted his post too! Luckily you managed to catch his schoolboy error in all its glory.

The Inverness & District FA (which is different from the North of Scotland FA) have to have a competition in order to remain affiliated to the SFA, so therefore the Inverness Cup will remain. It's not fully invitational - I think ICT, Clach and maybe Ross County are members of the IDFA - the other teams are invited.
Personally I would like to see the Inverness Cup made into a league competition for U21/Reserve teams of clubs in the area. It badly needs it as the existence of the Aberdeenshire League is a benefit for clubs in the east.

The Inverness Cup needs to either be just for Inverness teams and played pre-season, or needs to decide who gets to play in it and stick with it. Lossie sometimes get invited, sometimes don't, so its easy to see why no one takes it seriously. Ideally it would make a framework for an Inverness area league, but thats a while off.

How is a inverness league far off all the local inverness teams have a reserve side and the caley and county u19/reserve team would make the Inverness Cup more serious. Young bloods will like to stake a place in the first team or reserve team if they have games with a bit of credit to it. m
The old way off the Inverness Cup has passed it's day it's now turn for an stable cup competetion.
Does the likes off Lossiemouth and nairn county, forres and elgin part off an murray fa organasion which will prohibit the start off an Inverness Senior League.

The Inverness & District FA is a very small organisation. As I understand it, only ICT and Clach are definitely members and I think Ross County and Forres Mechanics are too. All clubs in membership of the IDFA are also members of the larger North of Scotland FA (Wick Academy, Brora Rangers, Golspie Sutherland, Ross County, Fort William, Clachnacuddin, Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Nairn County, Forres Mechanics, Elgin City, Rothes and Lossiemouth). There is no Moray FA.
Either the NoSFA or the IDFA should begin a reserve league around the Moray Firth area to allow the NoSFA HFL clubs to have an equivalent to the Aberdeenshire League which is of great benefit to the clubs in the east. Clubs in the north are getting left behind.
Ideally it would be good if non-HFL clubs competed in a reserve league too, but I wold take it as an HFL club only competition as better than no competition at all.

If a league system in the North for highlnad league clubs were made just like the North section off the Highland League u19's then that would get north fa HFL sides a similar backdrop off players like clubs in the east. Maybe leaving Ross County , Elgin and ICT fc would be more beneficial since these three sides have reserve teams playing in reserve leagues already. Mybe have these three clubs in for the North Cup and Inverness Cup.
Ross County do not partake in any reserve league. We play in the SFL U-19 league and ages below that, but it isn't reserve football as such.

Is there no reserve league in the Sfl if so then maybe Elgin and Ross County should join this new league.

Maybe The Inverness Cup should just be for teams affliated to the Inverness FA while this North League should be contended with all the teams in the North of scotland FA.

There aren't enough clubs in membership of the Inverness FA to make a worthwhile league or cup competition, which is why it has always invited other clubs to compete as well.
I don't care if the IDFA or the NoSFA administer any new reserve league, but just care that it becomes a reality!

Apparently Elgin City are hosting a preliminary round Inverness Cup tie against Ross County this evening (kick off 8pm) - but no-one from the IDFA has given the press any details about this season's competition.

Yep, not many people seem to know about it, i wonder if Elgin can field a team?
Not sure what kind of lineup will be representing us, mixture of youth/fringe/not fully fit i would guess.

Well, there is no mention of it on the Elgin website at all - I wonder if any of them know it's happening?
I've had in confirmed that Lossie aren't taking part this season though.
No one else I know of, knew it is getting played tonight.
