Yeah - I had a bit of a panic when I heard that - but mine was installed today as planned and took the boy less then 10 mins.

It's a complete straight swap out if you already have Sky+ - although I think the problem is then that people are relocating their Sky+ and that means running in extra feeds. I now have four Sky feeds into chez Div - complete overkill or what !

I had mine ordered and was due to get installed on 25th may, unfortunately because of what happened and me not living in my house full time, i reluctantly postponed it, i didnt want a 12 month contract hanging round my neck if i end up having to sell the house or move out.

I would just wait for the list to go away Spanky, price might drop once the demand drops, and apart from the world cup, theres not much to look forward to till the premiership starts.

Ordered mine last week .... 5th August is my installation date

They also did it with Sky Digital when it first came out,At first they charged £199 for the system and then after 5 months gave it away free.

Its fairly standard with any new piece of kit though.

Consoles always come down in price after the initial launch. And everything from video recorders to MP3 players are much cheaper now than when launched.

Its basic marketing really, innovators will always pay top whack for the latest gear but the mainstream public wont buy it until the price seems reasonable.

Anyone else find that the people who work for sky are the most useless bunch of fuckwits around? I wanted sky plus for christmas so got faither to phone up. Not only did they keep him on the phone all day for what should be a relative easy process but they come out, install my sky plus box then I use it for the first time to find that the remote control for it barely works as well as the buttons on the actual box freezing half the time so you can't change channel.

A tactic my mum used to employ regularly was threaten to leave saying she couldn't afford to keep it. Within a week someone from sky would phone offering her a deal. The best of these was 6 months pull package at half price!
